3 upgrade offer - any better offers?

Was phoned today by 3 offering an upgrade as wifes contract runs out in March.

Currently have a 12 month contract - talk and text 700 - cost £35 per month
(actually cost less than £70 for the year due to cashbacks via The Link)

Anyways was originally offered a nice new Nokia N73 on same tariff with half price for 6 months but on an 18 month contract.

Told the nice man that when I upgraded my phone to the k800i was given a credit on my account of £160 (ish) and only 12 month contract (also I only pay £25/month as I talk a lot less than the missus!). He then offered me an additional credit of £70 to show on the bill.

He said that would show as getting the first 4 months free and then the next 2 months at half price with the remainder of the 18 month contract at £35/month.

It seems to me as a good deal if you want a new phone.

Has anyone been offered any other similar or better upgrades with phones included.

I have seen another post here today but that relates to keeping their old phone whereas my wife would like an upgrade.

Dont know how well you look after your phone but my OH is in a 18 month contract with 3 and his phone is in a terrible state (really on its last legs). I rung to try and get an upgrade but they wouldnt so we are now looking for a 12 month contract with someone like e2save(i know they are a pain but i could put up with doing it again).
Just a thought as it sounds a good deal and but 18 months for some people with the same phone is worth thinking about if you use it daily.
    thanks for post .

Wifes current phone is a Nokia 6680 and after 10 months of constant use (did I say she talks a lot?) is in quite a good condition.
The phone is kept mainly in her handbag.

Obviously we would keep this 'old' phone as a back up should anything happen to the new one.

Sounds a good deal then..see women look after their things;)
I have a lovely v3 immaculate pink one but want a new one soon as after 12 months im bored of it.
Maybe scan this board as i am to check its the top offer(does sound good though)
  • Has anyone else been offered any better than what I have been offered?

Is there a chance I can push for more?
  • Update for you.

Called 3 again a few weeks ago and said we were to move elsewhere and got the PAC code. Were offered a few deals involving the k610 phone with 100 mins and 100 texts but thought they were too expensive and not the price plan we wanted.

Called again tonight told them we were happy to keep the current phone but needed to remain on the talk and text 700 tariff.

We were offered a 12 month contract with no new phone - talk and text 700 - half price for 9 months and a further £157 credit (which in effect is 9 months free) and then £35 per month for the last 3 months of the contract.

So £105 for the year all in.
