parcel2go.com - dodgy?

I used parcel2go.com to send some loudspeakers I sold on ebay. They were supposed to be collected on Wednesday last week and my gf stayed in all day but nobody came. I rearanged it for today and a guy in a car came to collect them, he looked at the box and said "oh Jesus, I dont have space in my car for that". She said "sorry?" and he said "ok I will take it."

She wrote down the registration number of the car as it left...

Chances are the courier uses a self employed parcel courier, often my stuff that's delivered or collected by Yodel, HDN have SE parcel collectors-delivery agents who use their own cars.
  • Parcels2go are just an agency that organises different couriers to do the shipping. I always use them and have never had a problem, but then I always chose DHL from their list of services. When you get a quote you get offered a whole lots of different couriers that they organize for you - your service will always be as good as the the carrier you choose! They use DHL, TNT, Yodel, Fedex, parcelforce, citylink etc and probably other smaller ones too.
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be

i have used parcel2go many times and always chose DHL and many times the driver will collect or even deliver parcels by car after 6pm.
  • If you booked hermes, then it will have been collected by a self employed contractor, who can refuse to take parcels at their discretion, unless overridden by their manager

well most couriers DHL, Citylink, Interlink, DPD, Fedex. all use franchised owner drivers (self employed) who are given territories to run.

Have you tried tracking the parcel online?
I've never used Hermes, but I can always track my parcels online with the companies that I use, I generally choose DHL, or Yodel as it is now.

I have sent/received parcels through Hermes and haven't have a problem.
  • I use hermes, my route operator is always ontime, but because I send so many parcels I get one of the actual hermes lorries collect, but my deliveries and the lady in our area is great!
