  • chelly78,

Do you snack because you are hungry or bored? I used to snack in the afternoons at work and now I have softmints. I admit I have an addiction but they work because I have a few in the afternoon and being minty I find I don't want to eat anything once I've had one anyway. I know they're not fantastic for me but it is saving me having a chocolate bar a day so it is all good. I'm always starving by the time I get home but I defo appreciate my dinner more when I'm hungry.

p.s. eating ben and jerrys while typing this.

I like softmints too much not to eat the whole packet in one go!! To be honest I don't really snack at work but when I get home instead of cooking dinner straight away I will have something to eat. Think I just need to get back into going to the gym on the way home from work and then there won't be the temptation!

I've had a manic week, so this is the first chance I've had to sit down and catch up properly in the world of mfw! This looks like a great challenge and the first one I've ever joined!

    My goals:

Health: Lose 10lb - I've already lost 5 and would like to get to a steady 10st by Christmas (and keep it off over Christmas). Make the effort to play badminton every week - no excuses! Try to get out for a ten-minute walk three days out of five.

Wealth: Save £2000 for wedding (about £600) and house (yes I'm a fake mfw, no mortgage yet!).

Up the ante: Be disciplined about business admin, including invoices - do it straight away (I'm self-employed and hate the admin side of things). Get accounts in order and tax return filed for last year.

Frugal fun: Make the time spent with fiance quality time - less mindless tv and computer!

That should be plenty to keep me going alongside organising wedding and looking for a house!

  • Oatcakes are a good healthy snack - very filling too.

Did ok at the weekend - my glass of wine on Friday turned out to be just half a small glass!

Was forced to eat out last night as MIL has no kitchen at the moment, so we took her out for something to eat - it was only cheap and cheerful, but still very tasty - better and cheaper than having a takeaway - at least it was a proper meal.

Seeds are still going well. Still no tea either.
