I have a Wildfire S and it's a great little smartphone and good value for money.

The biggest difference between the Wildfire and Wildfire S is the screen resolution. The original Wildfire has a QVGA screen which is 320x240 pixels whereas the Wildfire S has HVGA which is 320x480 pixels. For me this was the biggest reason I went for the Wildfire S rather than the Wildfire as I find QVGA screens just to small. But, if you are happy with a lower res screen the Wildfire is certainly cheaper.
The other differences are the Wildfire S has a slightly faster processor, it runs Android 2.3.3 rather than 2.2 as on the original Wildfire and a newer version of HTC Sense which is the UI that HTC places on top of Android.

The Wildfire S has a higher resolution screen, the CPU is slightly faster and it comes with the new Sense UI and Android 2.3. They're subtle changes, but I reckon they do make it worth the extra outlay. The Wildfire is a nice phone, but it's already a bit long in the tooth, so imagine what it will be like a year from now...0 -
thanks for the replies, so £30 more sounds about right?0
