Personally if I were you I would insist it go through an insurance company, however with just a sort code and account number their isn't really a fat lot someone can do with those details other than pay money into your account. Its just the same details that you have on your cheques if you used them, also if fraud could be done with those details I don't think most banks would print them on your debit cards as the amount that get reported lost or stolen each year would cause massive losses if fraud could be done?
