What is the most efficient way to send a 1.5kg parcel to Ukraine from u.k. - is it International signed for small packets?
This is not an ebay transaction, would I get adequate seller protection from paypal if I use this method?

Assuming item is over £46 then Royal Mial do not offer a suitable service for seller protection, you will need to ask on the courier thread about a suitable courier. To get advice you need to list the exact dimensions and value.
If item is under £46 then standard airmail will cover you for a claim of loss, just see the sticky postage thread.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. what about paying the extra with RM for compensation up to £500 for international small packets - up to 2 kg would be £19.410

If you read the Royal mail site and also the postage thread I mentioned above you will see it is not a suitable service for paypal seller protection, but it would give you the ability to claim for loss if item failed to arrive.
It depends whether you want full paypal protection or not and that really depends on the value o the item:

Also RM International signed for
http://www2.royalmail.com/delivery/delivery-options-international/international-signed/faqs
Are all International Signed For™ items electronically tracked when they are delivered?
We track all International Signed For™ items until they leave the UK and then the item is handed over to the destination country's postal service as a priority item. However, we can’t track your International Signed For™ item all the way to delivery in every instance.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Also be aware that if item is over £150 then Royal Mail might even be the worst service to use. That is because items over £150 require an online signature viewable for seller protection, but RM would not pay out for loss if they can show item was delivered even without a signature viewable.
All this though is in the postage thread.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Send it via a courier, try interparcel, thepackagedeliverycompany, parcelmonkey, worldwideparcelservices and interlink direct0

DHL booked through Parcel2go.com. Tracked door to door and takes typically 3 to 5 days. Slightly dearer than Parcelmonkey but Parcelmonkey seem to have problems more than most when booking collections with DHL for me probably because it is Yodel who do the home collection to DHL hub whereas when booking through Parcel2go it is DHL.0

I hate to tell you Hammy, Yodel/HDN now do all DHL operations in the UK0

Hate to tell you this but no they don't.
If I book through Parcelmonkey, they come from the Hull Yodel depot, I don't get a delivery label with a JD number on - instead the driver supplies it, they have a different set of primary JD reference number digits than the DHL direct ones and the parcel tracking doesn't work until the parcel hits the main DHL hub.
If I book through Parcel2Go, I get a DHL label to print out and stick on the package straight away with both a Waybill and JD number on, a guy from a completely different actual DHL depot in a DHL liveried van with a DHL uniform turns up and the tracking works from the time he scans it into his handheld scanner and it phones home.0 -
Mabes, but they's both owned by Yodel
yodel.co.uk have the DHL tracking facilities and all, try their website0 -
