i am interesting in the following: 1) PERSONAL LICENCE
2) SIA LICENCE
3) HEALTH AND HYGIENE

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP OR ADVISE,WILL REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

  • Hi

depends on what is available in your area I'm afraid it is a case of asking around.

LGV/HGV is available through an apprenticeship if that is a route you could look into.

Best people to speak to are the JCP advisors as they will(should) know what funding they have locally for training outside of the Work Programme, it is all allocated regionally.

Also try local FE Colleges as they may be able to get you funding for courses depending on your circumstances, previous levels of education etc.

    Regards
  • Many Thanks,much appreciated!!

HGV is. A friend of mine did it and walked straight into a job less than a week after.
    Good luck :)
  • Despite what people on these boards say, there is a shortage of LGV/HGV drivers and that is why they employ Eastern European and agency drivers. I deal with one of the biggest private companies in the UK and they tell me they are crying out for them, one of the reasons they are going down the Apprenticeship route.
  • Hi, thanks for the reply!

So,Hgv is Funded?? Sounds great if i can get on the course in my local area.

Hope i get as much luck as your friend!!

    Thanks raachel

Best bet is ask the advisor, if there is anything your interested in he should have some leaflets for what you want. Also look in jobs section in your paper, ive seen 2 ads now for free training in hgv training but i dont think it was a nationwide firm..

1/The total cost of HGV training,CPC and medicals would be over 3k on average
2/New drivers will find it tough to get employed as not many companies will be able to afford to insure them
