This has happened before with the football but I can't for the life of me remember what the reason given was.0

Well I am now trying to pick it up two-thirds through on ITV1 (no +1:() ... weird0

We've just had the same thing :-(
Dont think its to do with the fact we watch with freeview...
Had a google and apparently its to do with ITV classing +1 as a separate channel and only paying for the rights to show it on one channel (which seems a bit strange as its their programme - not a film) unless its to do with buying the rights from the production company itself?
grrrr - didnt realise it was on until the same point - now hoping it will be shown on itv iplayer but no guarantees as I dont want to miss the beginning...0 -
Same here. Quite annoyed as You would think they would have a notice in the listings. Too late too tell us when the original is halfway through. Grr It is all down to whether or not ITV buy the rights to show more than once.
I am watching (or not) on sky so freeview not the problem.0 -

It probably is to do with their agreement with the production company...it's the same reason some programmes aren't available (or are only available for a limited time) on online services like iplayer.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

googling, it seems it's something to do with the fact that some companies sell programmes to others and contracts state that they can only be shown once (regardless of whether it is a +1 channel that 'mirrors' the original).
Edit: toothfairy beat me to it!0 -
Already been covered on here i believe, from what i remember the answer/reason was similar to what lexuslass says,0

The point is they can charge the advertisers twice.
Obviously they hoped the content owner wouldn't notice
so they only have to pay once.
If you set up a cinema in your house, rented a Blu-Ray movie for a week, and charged people £1 each to watch it, again and again,
that's what these +1 channels are trying to do.
If the content owners don't put a stop to it, you will see +2 and +3 channels as well.
Personally, I prefer to watch recorded programmes, so I can skip the adverts at x32 speed.0 -
I know but Im too mean to pay for Sky or Cable - LOL - we looked into it and not worth it but are still saving for a recordable freeview box which would usually solve the problem (except when I didnt notice it was on until an hour in - hehe!):)0

Check out this one:

You do need two satellite feeds.
I was going to get a Windows 7 PC, with Media Centre built-in, put in a dual DVB-S2 PCIe tuner card, and then somehow set it up as a media server, but why bother now that Echostar has done it, but better?0
