Travelodge £15 rooms (merged)

Stayed in plenty over the last two years. Those £15 saver deals are very good especially for a family of 4.Never been overbooked yet for us.
A few moans though.
Bed cushions they use are rubbish.Ok if there are just two of you.You can ask for more cushions and towels but out of 6 places we stayed in over Christmas 2006 3 decided they didn't have anymore cushions to give out.
We spoke to head office and we advised that they won't take cushions from other empty rooms that have already been prepared.Take your own just in case.
Some of the bathroom doors don't always close properly. This is caused either
by the lower part of the timber needing trimming,or hinges loose.
Check the bottom of the bed for dust. They don't always wheel the bed a few metres and vacuum under.
Apart from our experiences in some that we stayed ,I would recommend Travelodge.
Always check you can get free parking. Some will also charge for parking and some you will may need a note in the window. In anycase reception will take the reg number of your vehicle.
Finally don't get ripped off by the adjoining, nearly bankrupt, Little Chef .
Get hold of the Tesco's small catalogue telling you where their cafe (not coffee shop)sites are.Bargain breakfast at 35p each and 19ptoast.0 -
The Little chefs usually attached are not bad at all if you can get the 2 for 1 offers - then they work out very reasonable. Daily mail used to do the vouchers frequently. Don't know if they still do?
Sometimes you only get a king sized bed in the Family room rather than 2 double beds. That might be us though as we usually ask for a king?0 -
jap200 wrote:We are a family of 5 and twice now have booked 2 rooms as the maximum occupancy even in family rooms is 4. In both cases we were given rooms facing each other across the corridor - which is closer than next door to each other (as they do not generally have rooms with inter-connecting doors). However, I have not felt comfortable with the kids (aged 4,6 & 8) sleeping in one room with us in the other - in case they woke in the night or wandered out of the room (the doors look behind you) or something like that, so we have ended up with one adult in each room with 1 or 2 kids.
However, I think that we could easily sleep all 5 of us in one family room as they usually have a double bed + a double and single sofa-bed type arrangement. We are therefore considering booking just one family room and one of the adults could then do the checking in process alone - declaring only 2 kids. We would then all reappear later on and wander off to the room - I can't imagine that we would be challenged.
Has anyone tried this? - what do you think?
when I stay in travel lodges with my mates for weekends away, we never fully declare the amount of ppl staying in one room. usually one of us books in, and the rest just turn up later and go straight to the room.
Weve had 7 of us in one room before :rotfl:
travelodge dont really take any notice of who is in the room.0 -
I am trying to book something on these dates and i havnt found any rooms for £15 yet - they are all £49 or above

We have used Travelodges a lot and almost always been very pleased with the rooms. Never been overbooked. Stayed at Shrewsbury before Christmas with my sister and b-in-law who have three children - there was no problem having 5 people in a family room. They used to get you to write down the names of all the people staying in the room, but the last few times all they've asked for is the car reg no. We booked over the web where it gives max occupancy as 4, but on the day they don't seem bothered. I think it is to stop people having 10 in a room after a stag party or big night out. Five in a room is only suitable for younger kids though as the bed settees aren't very comfy. We never use Little Thief - we take Tesco brioche rolls for breakfast and eat at local supermarkets or McDonalds or even garden centres.0

Right well im interested in one of these rooms - but last time i stayed at Travelodge I was sick, and i mean SICK, after overdoing the drinking at a wedding reception. Probably irrepairably stained the sofa bed with red wine puke. *shame*
I told the guy at the time and he never battered an eyelid just said to clean up. Does anyone know if ill get hit with a big fine if i use the same card??! (only half joking!)0 -
bumping it back up so no-one misses it.
I am going to try and get a Monday then I figure I've probably got more chance. Thought we might have a day out at the Space Museum.
