If they ever overbook me, then I will firstly seek legal remedy if at all possible (I think I have spotted a weakness in their overbooking T&C's if the desk staff do not follow them to the letter).
And secondly I will ensure that for any subsequent room bookings, I book 4 extra fully flexible rooms on the same night as I will be staying, and cancel them free of charge at the last minute, hence both reducing the likelihood of me being denied a room - because there will be 4 spare rooms at quite a late stage - and also screw up their profits.
But I'll only start doing this if I personally become the "last man standing" as they so callously put it in their internal training.0 -
Twice we have had the fire alarm go off at 3 in the morning, once in Rochdale, last year Plymouth.W1zz wrote:Stayed in Leeds pre-Christmas during the last £15 room deal. Saves having to worry about last train or taxi's home. Even got the Chrimbo shoppin done the next day.
Great night had, apart from someone letting the fire alarm off at 7:45pm just as we were getting ready to go out so everyone had to be evaucated to the street
I'd heard about the overbooking so checked in bang on 3pm (I work in Leeds
).
Both times full assembly in the car park, last time the fire brigade had great trouble stopping the damn thing going off.
Better that than be fried,I suppose, but idiots who set them off should be put in stocks on the car park and be pelted with Little Chef griddled eggs.0 -
I never have had a problem - but we usually check in really early - before the allowed time..0

Thanks for the advance notice, I will definitely be having a look, have stayed in Travelodges many times, last week had 2 nights in central Liverpool for £20 in total, they are brilliant in my book, never had a problem with overbooking, although I appreciate some people have, I would definitely recommend Travelodge if you fancy a break. Rooms are clean and staff are always friendly.:j0

These are bargains. I stayed in London for a week, staying at Liverpool St, Covent Garden and Kings Cross. Covent G highly recommended as just off Oxford St and ideal for exploring, but my room at Kings Cross had a train line just outside. Trains ran until after midnight and started again about 5am. Kings x Royal Scot and Farrindon are a short distance away and much quieter.0
