These are great, but only if you don't mind the fact they overbook frequently. As long as you don't mind being moved to a different lodge somewhere near(ish) if you get there and it's full.

I think they were on Watchdog recently about this.

Have had loads of £10 rooms and never had a problem. Thanks for the warning!

Just received this....we spent a few nights at Covent Garden over Christmas, it was a great deal. I called first thing on the morning we were staying and confirmed our rooms, we had no problem.

    Enjoy..

Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful festive season.

Now, here’s advance notice of the Travelodge Half-Term Room Sale.

It starts on Thursday at 6pm and there will be thousands of rooms for just £15 available in most Travelodge UK hotels * for stays between 8th and 25th February.

You could take the kids away for less, or perhaps you need to make a vital trip and don’t want to pay the excessive half-term rates other hotels charge. Either way, get ready to book your room from 6pm on Thursday.

Make sure you don’t miss it. Mark it in your diary, set your alarm, write it on the back of your hand; just be ready to book from 6pm - the £15 Half-Term Sale rooms are strictly limited and are certain to go fast!

We have stayed in loads of Travelodges up and down the country and NEVER had a problem....so far!

We have stayed in several of the London ones and found them to be clean, reasonably comfortable and adequately equipped...for £10-15 a night what do you expect?
You do have to watch out for traffic noise in certain ones but a bit of investigation will show this up on their website.

Stayed in Leeds pre-Christmas during the last £15 room deal. Saves having to worry about last train or taxi's home. Even got the Chrimbo shoppin done the next day.

Great night had, apart from someone letting the fire alarm off at 7:45pm just as we were getting ready to go out so everyone had to be evaucated to the street

I'd heard about the overbooking so checked in bang on 3pm (I work in Leeds :p ).

I expect if I hand over my credit card details and am told I have booked a "guaranteed" room, as they call it, to be able to arrive at that hotel and check in successfully!

I have major issues with their misuse of the word "guaranteed" - payment is guaranteed to them, but a room is not guaranteed for the punter.

That said I had a great £15 room at Kew at the end of 2006 with no probs - though I did check availability on their website and would have checked in a few hours earlier if they had indicated they were full.

ive never had a problem with the bookings.. ive used them when ive travelled quite a few miles to be somewere so if they had overbooked me after taking payment they will see merry hell from me...

ive also sometime arrived early and asked if the room is ready and sometimes it has been as the room is cleaned.. handy to drop off bags and do some shopping lol
