an extra £400. a week would pay off debt in 2 yrs lol any suggestions

hi..... having a calculator moment last night.....

and i worked out to clear my debts in 2 years .....

i would have to earn/find an extra £400. per week..

but that would clear our mortgage as well....

yes i know......i'm in a day dream world...lol...
and i am sure i am not alone.... with these mad moments.
when we have that paper and pen and calculator to hand...
working out our finances... and thinking ...well if i could find x amount etc.. or how much would i have to find... if i wanted to clear a debt off in x time....

so today.... i am going to find a suitable job... up until now hubby works wired shifts..... so its been hard to find a job to fit in with kids etc....

but i feel they are old enough now ( and sensible enough ) if their home alone.. for a bit...

does anyone else have these moments ?

any ideas ? apart from wake up.....

I constantly think 'How could I make an extra £XX a week/month'. So far ebay has done me proud (until now that is grumblegrumblegrumble).

You could try delivering newspapers or leaflets, take the kids with you to give 'em a bit of excersize. Check out the 'money from nothing' challenge by ehallett - that girl never gives up!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

    hi.. oberonSH......

i sell on ebay at mo...and that is just about covering the credit card payment every month.... so would will be stepping up with the listings there....
will be making use of the 10p listing day thurday..... and during january will be listing things at 99p so it will be a bit of a gamble on some things... at that low starting price... but hopefully it generate more interest....and sell more things.....

i started doing the money from nothing last year....but as i am a hoarder i have loads of things to sell...and i was getting confused... with listings lol....

match betting...i have just about got my head around..... but unless i have surplus money....( which i havent got ) to match bet with....i will leave a lone... as i feel the money could be tied up for 2 or 3 months waiting for the cashback profit of it all to kick in..... but thats not ruled out...just waiting for spare money...

I totally applaud your attitude to clear your debts and mortgage in the smallest amount of time possible.

One word of warning, don't burn yourself out by taking on loads and loads and loads. It isn't fun and counter-acts all of your hard efforts. Moderation is key... sorry to put a downer on your enthusiasm.

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

where are you in the Uk triker?

See a full time job could bring in 400pw but thats london ish.

Now If I could bring in 400 on TOP of a full time job, that would be wicked!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

well done some phoning round....i didnt bother with the job centre.... as in the past i find its quicker... and easier just to phone local companies regarding jobs....

i have got a few application forms being posted out to day...... varying from deliverying leaflets....nursing home... and a factory that makes shampoo... that i used to work in years ago....

so thanks to oberonSH for reminding me about leaflet delivering.... i used to do that years ago as well..... not much money... but it will be extra money...... so will be worth it......

will have a cuppa now.... and carry on going through the phone book.......for names and no.... of companies to phone......

try the job centre website ,it lists all the jobs you would find in the job centre, you can search by a certain amount of miles from your postcode

    http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/Internet/setLocale.do?country=GB&language=en&page=/initialise.do

like you i sell on ebay and, do mystery shopping
I also do some babysitting and domestic cleaning and get paid between £6 - £7.50 p/h

    good luck with it :)

Hi - I don't know if it is a national or local (south coast) recruitment thing, but Denplan keep advertising on the radio for staff to do a 6 month contract. I think (although I'm not 100% sure) it is in customer services.

To apply, I think the email address to send CV's to is hr@denplan.co.uk (trying to remember what the advert says!). There is also a phone number, but I can't remember what that is. I think it is an 0845 number.

Hello Cooltrikerchic  happy new year to you!
S'funny but I've been doing the same thing as you, what with the calculations and things. One thing that made making the extra dosh a week easier was taking the mortgage out the calculations. Came to about £200 a week then for me. I found this much more inspiring and `do-able' than 4-500. I don't want to work in Macky D's for a pittance - and there's lots of kids at Tonypandy one, which u'd drive me mad.
So I've decided to collect Ebay stuff and use it to set my own business up in March. My lightbulb moment came when friends kept saying `where d'you buy that from' like the cushions, throws and pictures I'd made for my house. My next thought was `If I had a quid everytime someone said that etc' and that's what made my mind up! And with help from an Ebay shop, and stalls at craft fairs hopefully it will be more than a quid!
Is there anything you could do likewise?
    PS; have just PM'd you
