Don't understand what the "Auto top-up level" is ? It asks for the amount which I can set for £10 credit but then the next question is the level with only £20 and £40 as options.I have learnt that living life to the fullest gives you a much better high than alcohol or drugs !0

Oyster's not accepted where I work so I have to pay £7.70 a day as opposed to something like a fiver if i could use Oyster.~*Cerenia*~

I havent got it open now to tell you which is which, but one of the figures is the amount it will top up, the other is the point it will top up at.
So for example: It will top your Oyster up with £10, when the balance on there goes below £20.
Hope that helps!0 -
The auto top up level is the amount by which Tfl will top up your card when it goes below £5. The £10 PAYG top up is just a one off that you are paying now to activate it.If i have helped, use the thanks button!0

yeah if you already have a card you can add auto top up.. it automatically adds £20 or £40 when your credit is below £5.. so not great for someone that is in London rarely like me - as I don't want £20 locked up in credit. Although £5 for free would be nice.0

OK thanks. That's a very poorly worded website then. I had taken it to mean that when your credit dropped below the 'Auto top-up level' then it would add the 'pay as you go' credit amount. I can't see any mention of the £5 threshold anywhere.
Either way, where does it mention about this £5 free credit?Stompa0 -

Has the offer finished? - I can't find anything refering to it.0 -
Yep. Still working. Doesn't mention the £5 discount until you are actually in the process of setting up the Auto Top-up. The Auto Top-up system itself is great - no more queueing and does what it says on the tin.0

Old_Gold wrote:As far as the top up goes it looks as if there are quite a few restrictions, for example you have to nominate a station and activate your card at that station within a certain amount of days. So what if you use different patterns of travelling?
You only have to nominate a station the first time you set up your Auto top-up. Once this has been done it will top up whenever your credit drops to a specified level. They have now enabled auto top up on buses so you don't have to use the tube to use this feature.
