  • Well, having been and read the rules PROPERLY, I am a bit more into what this is about. I am classifying anything that comes out of our joint account as 'not spent' - this includes petrol, bills, food and anything for the house that we have agreed to buy. The odd part of me is that I can manage our joint finances immaculately - all bills paid, never overdrawn, meal planning etc - we both contribute a set amount to this and it works really well. Where I fall down is on the 'personal' money side, that lives in my sole account. I also get the Child Benefit and pay for swimming lessons, shoes etc out of this. So my "NO SPENDING" is on my personal fun money, cos I am RUBBISH with that, always over at the end of the month and running a credit card balance.

So today, I had to buy petrol (doesn't count), but I did take DD to the fair as planned. But I was very good and managed to get away with £12.50, which again is less than it would have been in my pre NSD days (last weekend!). And that included a lovely lot of plastic tat to bring home and be lovingly cooed over and hidden from her brother (younger, will eat it probably). So not a NSD for me, but tomorrow will be! I have a day off work as it is my turn to be 'mummy helper' at the preschool, so I can eat breakfast, lunch and tea out of the fridge. No tempatation to spend, and no opportunity either!

    Hi all,
glad you're back BDINI. I hope you're not doing the house all on your own.

No NSD today, I decided to get some printer ink and some much needed new shoes while we were spending. Might get another NSD tomorrow, fingers crossed.

Just seen that I've actually sold something on Ebay!! WhooHooo!
I don't need to class the P&P as a spend as the buyer is paying it.

Hugs to everyone and good luck with your No Spending!

Thanks everyone for your kind words, they kept me going through the dramas of trying to clean up ready to start painting (3 days, 60 sponges, 90 J cloths, 4 kitchen rolls,2 bottles of cleaning spray, 3 tubs of oven cleaner & 4 bottles of bleach just to get the kitchen & bathroom done :eek::eek:)
