Does anyone know Asda's policy on tattoo's?

I personally think it's ridiculous that a lot of employers and people in general are still viewing people that have tattoos as 'rough'. It's ink for gods sake! It doesn't affect how people do their jobs. And if a customer had a problem being served by someone with a tattoo, they should really try dragging their !!! into 2011!0

Why do you want to limit your job prospects for the sake of a bit of graffiti on your skin? Maybe you should drag that chip off your shoulder and join the real world"When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -
I have visible tattoos and it has never stopped me getting any job I have applied for including British Airways.
Time are a changing and that includes most peoples opinions regarding tattoos.
Good luck with your application with Asda OP.0 -
So I express my opinion and have a chip on my shoulder? No. As I have said previously, my tattoos were done 7 years ago. Had I known that they would cause a problem I wouldn't have had them there. Asda have no problem with tattoos anyway, as verified by people on here, as well as Asda head office.0

With respect, what an absolutely ridiculous comment.
More and more people are carrying knifes and guns now adays than was 20 years ago, maybe we should be more accomodating to them also.
Tattoos look unprofessional and in some cases ridiculous. And to think an employer would like their public face to have tattoos on 2 arms is ridiculous. It's not about them being seen as "rough", more about them being seen as ugly -- same as nose studs and them huge earrings that stretch your eaf loaf.
If I had two people in front of me wanting a job, wanting my hard earned cash in exchange for representing my company, I would be looking at presentation as much as I would qualifications. The person with tattoos would be at a significant disadvantage.0 -
Infact, don't you have to be 18 these days to get a tattoo?
At that ago I would expect a person to be somewhat intelligent enough to realise the affects visible tattoos can have. At this age your either in education aiming for a particular industry to build your career or trying to find a job.0 -

Because knifes and guns are just the same as having a small tattoo aren't they?!0 -
I think there are some very small minded people on here with regards to tattoo's, granted i have tattoo's and although never worked in a public facing roll, i am a customer of these stores and i for one would never object to anyone with tattoo's working or serving me.0

it's not small minded at all. You've got loads of skin so why is it that some people don't realise that anything above the shoulders and below the wrist can stop them getting jobs? it's not that difficult to just avoid those areas instead of expecting the world to change to accept you.0
