Replacing a wing mirror - general advice

HI
Some charmer kicked off my wing mirror last night - can anyone advise on the cheapest method of repair? There used to be a home repair service you could book online, but that seems to have gone out of business. Anyone know of any others?
Although the damage is minimal, I suspect I'll need to replace the whole unit. Should I source the part separately or get just let my dealer sort it out?

Depends on what car its on, is it electric, does it all need replaced or just the shell or the glass. Anything from five minutes to half an hour to fix or from nothing to hundreds of pounds.0

I broke my wife's n/s mirror when reversing her peugeot 307 cc in to the garage.
No aftermarket parts available and none in scrap yards.
New cost including painting the shell, fitting (temperature sensor inside so door card removal) and VAT was £320.
Ouch!0 -

Yeah, I'm expecting similar. Not sure what planet the 5 mins and next-to-no-cost brigade are on. My car is a new model, so unlikely to find anything from a scrap yard. New on ebay are £60, there's one for £40, but that will need spraying etc.
It's annoying really as the whole unit looks in tact, other than a tiny plastic bit that's snapped off the bottom. I keep trying to jammy it back in, but can't do it.0 -

The whole unit is fine - there is a bit of plastic missing from the locking unit, but other than that it's in perfect condition. It will be really, really annoying to have to replace the whole lot, if that's the case.0 -
I replaced the drivers side electric mirror unit on my 206 with a new copy one off eBay. If possible, try and find an original one. The copy parts are absolutely rubbish. The actual mirror inside it shakes while driving and the whole unit just isn't all that refined.0
