Mines favourite toy is the free cardboard box that their Royal Canin food was delivered in. I just cut a hole in the side and voila.....there are normally at least 2 (out of 11) in it!0

I have poodle envy. I'd really like one one day!
Bext value hmmm:
for the cats: little toys for about 50-70 p each. My cats love them, especially the snake and the little unicorn. Our less toy motivated cat goes crazy about ''Snakey'' and I've thrown one of them away this week....after about four years and it was disintergrating.
A sheepskin rug. Our cats have travelled a bit and their rug is a great comfort to them...they understand that where the rug lies is where to sleep....whether its the car, the end of our bed, a hotel room, or somewhere we're staying for a weekend.
Da bird: quite possibly the easiest way to keep indoor cats fit.
Dogs: hmm. This is harder, but probably have to plump for vet beds. Some of our vet beds are older than me. They just do not die and wash, and wash, and wash...albeit they get a little thinner, those ones we use for the car. NB: I prefer the white ones.
For all the animals: pig lamps. A saviour for unheated or porrly heated houses where the pet gets treated better than the people! My animals all know that red means warmth!
Most of these are not cheap, but they get used regularly, and in the case of pig lamps and vet beds, have lasted several generations of critters reliably.0 -
Tennis Balls.
Can't beat a decent tennis ball, not the cheap ones, but sportsdirect do tubes of three or four for £2 or £3 and they last and last (the cheap ones in poundland etc get destroyed in minutes by our two jacks)....talking of two jacks, Jess on the left (she loves playing ball, would play 24.7 if she could), Woody on the right (he likes stealing said ball of Jesse so she stops playing ball)0 -
@visidigi, I have a sneaking suspicion that one of those tennis balls is being held just out of shot!0

damn was it that obvious...
Its one o the few photos we have of both of them at the same time standing still0 -
Best money we ever spent was £20 for our dog! He was in the freeadds paper, he was a fantastic boy (think they were getting rid as he was not a good hunter, he was a harrier which is like a tall beagle but he was scared of water and anything sticklike)
We hope when we get a new dog he will be as wonderful as Chester was :-)0 -
Hi Visidigi
Love the ears! It's the way they have both got their heads cocked to one side.....
Maybe if not a ball perhasp it was a phone? My trailie listens when friends speak to her (please note , they speak to dog not the owner!!) as in dog & bone , and she puts her ears up with head on one side listening to all the silly doggy talk! my beaglex wouldn't stoop so low... he walks away looking bored.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Best thing I got for mine was Amy and Jack's hoodies - £2 each from a (then) local discount shop.
Kept them warm last winter, I will line them with £1.01 fleece from Ikea this year to make them even warmer0 -
I too bought a long crinkle tunnell off eBay for less than a tenner. I thought Lily would like it and I was right. Was intended to be for occasional use but hasn't been put away since I bought it. In fact, she uses it so much that over winter she went from "large cat" to "medium" cat for worm drops!0

A fantastic, huge, thick dog bed for my large than average greyhound. He sleeps on the sofa but makes a great seat for my boyfriend!
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0
