6th birthday party ideas?

Hi
I was wondering if anyone would be able to give me some ideas as to how to entertain 30+ children at a birthday party.
We have hired a hall but my daughter has said that she does not want an entertainer as Daddy can do it as he is funny.
As the day is getting closer I am panicking as to what to play and also the dreaded party bag.
I know that some of you have wonderfully creative minds and would be able to throw a bit of that my way?
I will be doing a variation on musical chairs and the dreaded pass the parcel(s) and we have music but what else?

A game that we played at a party when I was young (and loved) was a sort of treasure hunt. It needs a small amount of preparation before the children arrive. Each child has a piece of card/paper with the outline of a ladybird/alien/butterfly (anything that could have spots really). You need to get some spot stickers. Stick these all over the hall (make sure you count how many you've put out so that you know at the end if they've found them all). The children then have a time limit to find the most stickers and stick them on their pictures. The child with the most stickers at the end wins a prize.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

Party bags: This pack of pens from Mr T is only 40p for 10 - buy 3 packs, and split them up so all of them have one each.
They have this 8pk of colouring/activity books in poundland. A couple of balloons each. A sheet of stickers. (they have other designs too - princesses, cars etc) A lollypop.
A piece of birthday cake wrapped in foil.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Thank you for the replys it is much appreciated.
Are there any other thoughts on what games that I could play? This is the whole reason we have hired the hall as my daughter loves party games but I would love to see her face if we played something different!
In regards to party bags I think I will take a trip to the £1 shop this week and see what I can pick up.

You have the usual musical bumps, musical statues, pass the parcel, the chocolate game (big bar of chocolate kept in wrapper on a paper plate in the middle of the circle of kids. They all take turns to roll the dice and if they throw a 6 then hey go into the centre of the circle and put on a woolly hat, scarf, big ski gloves and pick up the knife and fork and try to get into the chocolate bar until the next person throws a 6 and then they are out and so it continues - its a great game.
You have the mummy game. 2 or 3 teams and you use a toilet roll to wrap around 1 person whole body as a mummy and they win.
pin the tail on the donkey. hide the mini sweets (sort of treasure hunt). you could do karoke. Also have a few craft tables. Make your own stickers (dd went to a party in a toy store and they did the karoke and make your own stickers and all kids loved it).MFIT T2 Challenge - No 46

I remember seeing a pinata in Tesco recently. Think it was a donkey but don't know what was in it or how much. It was an Extra store if that helps.0

I was going to say this as well, you could even make your own and fill it with poundshop goodies!"If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.":DMiss Mona, The Best Little *****house in Texas0 -
Try and rope in a few people to help too (you may already be doing that anyway). My dd recently turned 6 she invited about 30 kid's. 8 replied 18 turned up. Those 18 kid's were wild & so noisy I couldn't believe it. There were 3 adults at the party & we really could have done with some more grown up's to help.
Big hit of the party was a big bowl of popcorn they all loved that.Booo!!!0 -
For my daughter's 6th this year we hired a hall. I bought some make your own badges and door hangers from e-bay and with pens and stickers, the children spent the first 45 minutes doing crafts. We then played games with teams and balloons before eating, and then after tea carried on with the usual games (pass the parcel, musical statues, corners etc). Party bags were Horrid Henry party bags from the Book People (fantastic value - books, pens etc - people loved them).
It was hard work - previous years we have taken them to soft play areas, but with the number of children invited it was much better value and they all seemed to have a good time....0 -
I would say a pinata too! My son has had one for the last 3 Birthday parties and it is always everyones favourite game.
I make the Kids line up and they take it in turn to whack it 3 times and then go to the back of the que.
If you have a Home Bargains near you, they sell them cheaper than the supermarkets. I just filled ours up with sweets.
This year in fact I made my own, it was just a normal cardboard box and to decorate it I just stuck some paper on (it was a Mario Bros. themed party and so the pinata was made to look like one of those boxes with a question mark on and i filled it with chocolate coins)
