Hi Moozie - pleased to report a no spend day, as promised. My next 'spend' will be on a real espresso coffee, when I arrive in Rome tomorrow.
Will try to post before I go, and hopefully will be able to connect while I'm away.
Cheers Moozie and all. :beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

DFW Nerd # 166 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
Hi guys
Well my £10 a week challenge is of to an extremely bad start. On Monday I had a really heavy day at work and left really late so had to stop and buy some KFC on the way home, I then got a cab home cause I was absolutely exhausted! In total it cost me £12.00 so I've completely blown this week already. I also spent £1.50 on breakfast at work this morning as I couldn't sleep last night, and landed up having 3 hours sleep as I get up at 04h30 in the mornings to go to work, and I had no inclination to make sandwiches at five this morning. I suppose at least I had £6.00 left over from last week.
In total that cost me £13.50 this week already, and unfortunately I am having drinks with a friend on Saturday, but am hoping to keep them to a minimum.
I'm really annoyed with myself that I managed to blow so much money, but then again, it's not something I do regularly, so suppose it's ok, just dissapointed really, this money saving thing is really getting to me badly, I don't even want to spend money on anything any more! LOL!
Must try harder! :mad:Debt Free 03.2024!!0 -

Rog2 I hope you have a lovely break and come back loaded with goodies!
When are you due back by the way?
In case I don't speak to you before you go, keep it euro-low

Thanks Moozie - To be honest, I haven't yet fixed a return date, as I need to check out the job situation. I expect I'll probably be back in about 10 days, but WILL post - I promise.
And I will keep it Euro-low - you get so much more for your money in Italy. :beer:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Hey liewe heksie
Sorry you had a difficult week so far! The good news is Saturday is not part of the challenge
Do try to do well between now and Friday as I am sure that will make you feel better and more positive. Moneysaving is time consuming more than anything else. A bit of planning goes a long way!
Good luck and chin up!Leason learnt :beer:0 -

To pay bills, have money for holidays and treats and also to have something to complain about

I'm certainly getting better at this (compared to me pre-lightbulb)! I'm getting the hang of this! OH kindly made sarnies for dinner and we get free tea, coffee, water and chocolates at work. So saved the £4 I generally waste on a sarnie, crisps and coke (plus I have a bad tooth so no pain either!)
Went to Boots and got some TCP & floss and put it on my advantage card from all the xmas points I built up so it was free! Saved £3.50.
Then went to co-op and resisted everything I didn't need. Got a pizza £2.50, we would have spent £20 at Dominos before and it was nicer from the co-op! Got some salad reduced to 99p which will do us 2 times. Resisted wine, fruit juice, treated myself to value lemonade!!0
