Couple of bits to add for weekly update: £2.50 homemade wine savings plus £20 from DH... half of the £40 his dad gave him for doing a bit of gardening (apparently, I'm worth it :rotfl:).
Taking me to £72.71... really should list on eBay this weekend...R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0 -
Nothing to update yet today but just been on ebay and managed to list another 12 things - i needed to come and remind myself why i put myself through it!! Am ready for sticking pins in my eyes LOL! How any of you manage to list 50 items at a time i don't know - i think you should be paid for listing never mind having to pay hehehehehe!
Anyway, thats another wee bit done and hopefully will make a few sales at least!
Great about the free listing weekend - think i will try and do the mini challenge again and list 30 more things if i can face it
Good luck all today - hope you all make millions

Franby - Tesco will accept your Sainsburys money off vouchers.well done!
keep an eye on the quick grabbit board if you can, there are glitches before xmas, and sales of items, so worth keeping an eye if you can during the day
Thanks for reminding me!I love the grabbit board but have never got myself into the habit of looking on there! Will have a browse today and will add it to my favourites list so I don't forget!
Well done lollyits things like that happening that make all the hassle seem worth while isn't it
I'm p'd off completely cos I've just sat and worked out our 'finance' for the next mth (we get paid tomo) and after everything we need to pay out we have about £100 left to live for the whole month.
I don't really know what to do with myself at the minute cos I've been sat with my book on my knee trying to add and add again hoping maybe it will change but of course it hasn't. So I have put comedy on in hope I might crack a smile
X
Thanks Sweetpeas
It is an awful situation to be in, I was there not long ago. As Aesop said, the OS board is great for making money go further. The Grocery Challenge has some great recipe ideas, and some people are making lovely meals on the smallest budgets - really inspirational. The only other thing I could say is (if you haven't already) go through everything that you pay out and check if you can get it cheaper. If you are out of contract on anything, then you will usually be able to get a better deal if you tell them you are planning on leaving them (just do your homework first and find a company that you can say you are moving to).
Oh also, Amazon has a grocery section - I've not looked at it yet so don't know how good it is, but it may come in handy if you are building up lots of Amazon vouchers, but not much cash for everyday things.
Great news about free listings. Hope I qualify. I don't get any free monthly listings at the moso don't know if I'll be able to get these ones either. Fingers crossed.
Misskaytee - A Christamas challenge sounds good! I bought quite a few gifts in Boots' Jan sales (LOVE Boots sales!) but still have a lot to buy, especially the kids' stuff (I can never buy their presents early as I get too excited and give it to them early, lol).
Eco - Well done on your car insurance! :T I'd love to pay my insurance yearly as it would save a fortune, but at the mo it's just too expensive. That will probably be something to aim for next year.
My company contacted me yesterday and told me that my premium would be going up to £1100! (currently £970). That didn't sound right as by the time I renew I will have had my license a year so won't be classed as a 'new driver', I'll also have 2 years NCB so I thought it would go down, at least a little bit! I looked around a bit yesterday and have three companies offering £600 ishWill have another look around and decide nearer the time as it's not due until next month.

Thanks for the guidance Kaytee/Aesop (and anyone I've forgotten after catching up with the thread
)
Thanks (again) to Aesopfor reminding me to go through Nectar for Amazon purchases...I always forget this which is a PITA when I buy most of my xmas pressies on there (THINK OF THE POINTS!
d'oh)....so I've cut a piece of paper with the words "buy amazon thru nectar!" and stuck it on my pc monitor

Jeezus, words fail me
Big hugs Aesop & Sweetpeas :grouphug:
Am i the only one who finds this Shocking, and really quite upsetting
Aesop, dont feel guilty using your child benefit, needs must!
Sorry, but just realised the time, and im running late
Best wishes to you both x
Thanks hunWe'll manage somehow. I will have to use my "stash" that I've been saving up from this challenge. I like to try and save it towards something for the family but I'll have to use it this time, food and petrol are more important
It is upsetting considering we've both always worked full time
sweet xx((((((((((sweetpeas)))))))))))))))
actually going to give you the dodgy hug
:grouphug:
it has been the same for us the last 2 months. once I have paid most bills, have £100 for food for month and have ended up using DS's child benefit to get us through. I hate doing that as like to use it for him for treats.
can you have a look at fairyclicks page to see if there is anything you don't do that you might have time for?
have you tried oldstyle thread? to see how you can make store cupboard food last a month?
Hi hun, I'm going to head over there over the weekend with pen and paper ready so I can note some ideas down. I'm going to have a look at fairyclicks page as well so I can pinch some of the ideas flying about. Thanks for the ideas hun, you're a saint :A
