We've kinda stalled the past few days as we've been house sitting for a friend...beautiful place, so we had to share it with others too...definitely no savings from food/entertainment budgets!!!
But now it's back to reality, and the £10 a day challenge.
£10 from Survey Friends website...we just did the auction at the last min and won.
Almost there for a voucher with Spud Shillings, and have referred a bunch of folks for Shop and Scan in Northern Ireland as they're recruiting. Also waiting on some dosh from a survey on personal grooming...would be really helpful for them all to come in soon.
Checked car insurance this morning as we've to get a new policy next month and have just realised that we don't pay anything this month for insurance! So an extra £25.21 to go into the pot!
Well done to all who're keeping in the challenge...hang in there! :T£10 a day in November = £593.31 / £3000 -

Are you allowed to buy yourself a treat if you've been really good for ages? Feel guilty now wanting to spend it on that...
Everyone needs a little treat now and again, it should be guilt free 'cos you haven't paid a penny for itEnjoy it!

I've got another £2.32 to add from ebay.
I'm running out of things to ebay now! I have a confession, I have 3 pieces of gold jewellery, one of which is a pretty decent diamond, and I think I could quite comfortably pay off my debt if I sold them. But they're all inherited from my nanna, so I feel so bad even thinking about it! It's something that's always in the back of my mind though. Is that awful?Or am I being stupid and sentimental? I'm newly unemployed & right now I use my entire income to make my minimum payments - every penny. I'm a huge sponge to my parents right now. This challenge has helped me so much this month, but what about next month when I've got nothing left to sell? It scares me so much...
Sorry that's so whiny! I am lucky to have a roof over my head & my money problems are totally my own doing. In my defence though it's 2am and I'll totally regret it in the morning, lol.Oct £10 a day challenge £225.19/£310Sept £10 a day challenge: £272.13/£300Debt £1951.97/£21540 -
Muffins22 - I totally know where you're coming from, I have a few bits and bobs nothing as sentimental really but still things that hold memories and which I worry I would regret selling if I did get rid of them....
it's hard part of my brain says "well you can't take it with you" the other part says "but you might regret it"....catch 22in the case of the stuff your nana left you, would you pass it on to your own kids one day?...if you plan on having any....I'd say keep it - unless you absolutely HAVE to sell....xx
p.s. My Mum before she passed away pawned some bits of jewellery without my knowing (only found out after the funeral)....if I'd known I would've gladly given her the money for them myself...to keep them in the family....perhaps you should offer them to your parents perhaps as collateral for a loan or suchlike....then you could buy them back from them as you get better in control of things (just a thought x)0
