£10 from an old mobile phone arrived today...as did two other mobiles that were rejected by Cex...any suggestions on what to do with them? They are old and done like, tho the battery still works with one of them...I'm loathe to throw them away cos of the waste...anyone recommend a recycling place?
Have had a nice car insurance quote so am tempted to pay that this month, and then put the savings in to this month's total. Also have cashback site money to come, but that can wait for the October challenge when it hits my account!
EDIT:
Decided to go for the insurance quote now...so £32.93 saved from what we'd budgeted for...happy days!£10 a day in November = £593.31 / £3000 -

I'm counting this, but i need to spend this on my brother's birthday present - i might have about 50p left over0 -
Hey Everyone,
Muffins - Try not to worry too much about the future as a new job may be just around the corner - 'you never know what tomorrow will bring'. I would hold on the the jewellery for as long as you can. If needs must, then maybe sell one piece rather than all three, and see how you go on? Try not to let your feelings about sponging from your parents influence your decision as I'm sure they won't see it like that - they will know that this is only temporary until you get back on your feet, and will probably be glad to be able to help you through it.
RE Bingo Port - I did 'play by the rules'. I don't think anyone could have looked at my activities and thought I was misusing the site, I spent ages on there and actually quite enjoyed it, - but once it came to pay out time BP completely ignored my voucher request and wouldn't answer any emails I sent about it - very odd as most sites would at least let you know why they won't pay, rather than simply ignoring all contact.
WillSpireite - Maybe this phone recycling comparison site will help... http://mobilevaluer.com/ A lot of sites have databases of handsets so you can search for your phone and see how much you will get, they will usually also tell you if they don't accept that particular model.
Well I have £15 to add from the tesco £15 off a £50 shop, delivered today - and 30p student discount... Every little helps

it's hard part of my brain says "well you can't take it with you" the other part says "but you might regret it"....catch 22in the case of the stuff your nana left you, would you pass it on to your own kids one day?...if you plan on having any....I'd say keep it - unless you absolutely HAVE to sell....xx
p.s. My Mum before she passed away pawned some bits of jewellery without my knowing (only found out after the funeral)....if I'd known I would've gladly given her the money for them myself...to keep them in the family....perhaps you should offer them to your parents perhaps as collateral for a loan or suchlike....then you could buy them back from them as you get better in control of things (just a thought x)
Thank you for all of that, it's nice to hear someone else perspective & maybe a loan is something I can talk to my parents about. I am going to keep hold of it for nowOct £10 a day challenge £225.19/£310Sept £10 a day challenge: £272.13/£300Debt £1951.97/£21540 -

I am going to keep hold of it, I am scraping & scrounging but I have a roof over my head and my debts are just about getting paid, so I shouldn't be thinking about desperate measures. As for a new job, there seems to be plenty going where I live so it's just a matter of time, you're right, everyting could change tomorrowOct £10 a day challenge £225.19/£310Sept £10 a day challenge: £272.13/£300Debt £1951.97/£21540 -

Gets quite addictive doesn't it when you list items and see them selling. I keep refreshing my page to check for bids when items are ending lol
Hope you're okay Mrs x0
