That was soul destroying; I have just come back from collecting Avon books and out of 60 houses for this campaign, not a single order!

Very slow on the money making front for me :(

I'm really sorry nat, but Avon can be like that! when I first started, I got no orders my first campaign, and it was only on my 3rd that I got orders totalling £30.xx

they may already have an avon rep. My friend's friend use to order from me until I gave up now she orders from a mum at school. There is always someone doing it.

Have you checked out the avon tips and hints thread on mse? the women on there are lovely, friendly and helpful. Read the first page for lots of ideas and tips on how to get customers.
  • Firstly :grouphug: (sorry it's the dodgy one!) to Nat & Hopeless (and anyone else in need of a hug), sorry to read your troubles. Nat, good to read further that you're coping okay so far with everything :heartsmil

Aesop - hope the exam went well for you :)

W_R - what type of place do you take your textiles to for cash recycling ? I've been looking for something similar but not having much luck (think I may just be overlooking the obvious !!)

More items put on Gumtree but no sales yet......:( Trawl of local charity shops proved fruitless.
However, took some bags of old clothes/bedding for cash recycling and strolled out with £8 cash.

Hello Gang, and Welcome Newcomers :)

And WOW - how fast this thread is moving these days - I've only been awol for 5 days & it's rattled through an hour's worth of reading for me

Good to see the headway everyone is making - no matter how small it may seem to you - keep on going, we've plenty of time left yet and every little extra is that bit more than we had before :money:

Enough rambling for now and down to the business of my weekly update as I've got to think of a suitable post to update my diary this weekend - lots of news to add

So without further Ado - OT for the week (booked) of £31.50, so steady progress for me ... and thanks Sweets for amending my monthly target for me. :o

Thanks Greyhound Angel, it is tomorrow - Sunday. DH is going to have DS while I go and do it. It is quite strange as I work in an industry where we have people doing the same exam as me, and they all took theirs recently. Only a small percentage passed and that is with me.....
  • Well done everyone so far! It is all great motivation for me this month! I have just started a new job and Im shattered when I get home and without this thread I probably wouldn't force myself to put the time in to make extra cash. But boy do I need it. Everything I earn this month is paying to keep me in petrol and food at the moment! Have gone two months without pay so every penny counts! (Bring on pay day!!)

So these two days I have made.. £18 in surveys, £5.61 in ebay (hardly seems worth it, but I keep telling myself that every £5 counts) and today we had to go into town to go to the bank and managed to get a free parking ticket off someone so saved £1.20! Result.

And I finally got my amazon voucher code through from a cashback site, I'm trying to be good and think of a present that needs buying with it rather than buying myself a new boxset to watch that I don't really need!!

Got 15 more items on ebay tonight aswell, I'm determined to use all my 100 a month so that I can clear out the house of junk (I actually feel guilty everytime I look at my ebay box because I realise how much money I have wasted over the years on stuff I don't need or really want!) and hopefully make a dent in my debt.
    Make £5 a day in May £51.05/£155
