Hello all
I am wanting to put a coal fire back into my fireplace. I say back as before there was a gas fire. This has been taken out but some copper pipes remain still! I am abit lost on what to next. There is a flat below me and their chimmey breast is running up along side mine.
I think I need a fireback?? I know I need the grate ect dont really know what is required or if it has to be inspected ect any ideas would be a great help thanks.

Find yourself a qualified sweep and ask him to visit and advise. These chaps know huge amounts about fireplaces and chimneys and what can, and cannot, be done.0 -
Yup, the installation must be approved to ensure compliance with building regulations. For more information visit hetas.co.uk - the official body recognised by Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances and installations.

Dont fiddle with it yourself for goodness sake - it could prove a costly and dangerous bit of diy. Contact a NACS or qualified sweep to come out and sweep the flue, which you will need anyway and ask him what/who/how.0
