Anyone know if this lot have ever actually taken anybody to court?

I got a "ticket" last November and have ignored all the letters that have followed, but the last one said, in big letters DO NOT IGNORE - THIS WILL NOT GO AWAY. Now I know it's all just bluster and threats, but I just wondered if they have ever followed through. Knowing my luck I could be the first!
Oh dear, here we go again.

DO NOT IGNORE - THIS WILL NOT GO AWAY.

They lie, 3-4 begging letters and it does just that.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Thought that would be the answer. Reckon I've heard the last of them then, I've had 4 I think.

  • You will miss those silly letters and their comical threats.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

Yup, the tingle of anticipation as you open the envelope, the thrill of the unfolding story ....

I might have to visit one of their car parks to get another fix if the withdrawal gets too bad!

ECP have never, ever taken anyone to Court and their top tea-boy admitted in a National newpaper earlier this year that they don't.

I got a fake ticket from them 3 years ago and they just predictably use the exact letter-chain shown in the first top thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Are you at the end now? Have a look.

I have no idea what is written in their threatograms as I don't open them! Controlaccount? Anything from Bromsgrove in Worcestershire gets sent back marked "refused". So if "this will not go away", then they'll be spending their money on mail for life, it won't cose me at all. I had four tickets from them just before I became a member here, but that was before I landed under Coupon-mad's thumb. She read me the riot act and warned me not to go getting charges on purpose! ;) How could I resist being on the right side of this dominant and power-hungry person! :p:D

    But...today it happened :(

On purpose? Depends how you look at it! :undecided

Iceland (no NOT the country, the supermarket) close to me has its car park "managed" by Town & City. However, they never issued tickets before! All they had was some old man in a T&C uniform who never put anything on any car. I'm not going to report him now am I?! Today there was someone else, and me thinking this was just a front to scare drivers was surprised to return to the car to find yellow and black on the side window, "not to be removed by unauthorised person". Yeah right!!

It happened, I can't turn the clock back. Can someone tell me which third parties T&C use and what the address is? That way I can send their trash back unopened and never have to speak to them. Thanks.

Fergie76 has had this letter-chain very recently, they use Whytes solicitors now I think (used to use AA Hutton). Mentioned in the top thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

And I am not judging you for getting fake PCNs, I don't care if I or anyone get any - but I just draw the line at blocking disabled and parent/child bays. Not only because some people need disabled bays (maybe not the parent & child bays...) but also if we are seen to 'abuse' those bays then the PPCs can say 'look at the abuse we are stopping' and continue to convince supermarkets that they are actually delivering a service.

I am quite happy to overstay though if I am a customer, it's tough if a scammer PPC wants to impose a made-up time limit!

  • Oh thanks. I feared a lecture! :)

Certainly no parent & child, or disabled bay abuse here. When there was the other bloke sitting in his corner last week (who I knew would not issue a ticket), the only space was the parent and child space. Believe it or not, I can get away with this fully as my car has a child seat in it. My boy is 20 months old (on August 30th). There is such thing as "wife and child already being in store"/joining them/collecting them, and even even when someone returns to his vehicle, how do you know he didn't drop off his family on arrival? And even if you watched him arrive - did you follow him everywhere? Do you know for sure his family are not already shopping and his intention was to fetch them but then a change of plan cropped up whereby he was called into work urgently and the family decided to take a taxi? Is it impossible?

Nevertheless, to end the note, yes I turned around and parked elsewhere.
  • By the way, on the subject of letter-chains, I looked at Parkforce and was surprised. Two or three letters demand £135, the final one lumps it to £240 before offering you a settlement figure of £108.

What a saving for some unsuspecting person who goes abroad a few months and finds the letters which he opens one by one!

"Good job I never paid the £135, right?"!!!!
