Bloody BT have announced the second price rise this year so that is four rises in two years and they made 20% profit in the last quarter  That's without the cheeky B's charging £4.50 to pay by cash
So it is time to look for a better deal and they can stick their service where the sun don't shine
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

No one with any sense pays BT for calls.

If you agree a 12 month contract you get free evening and weekend calls.

That leaves you with call between 7am and 7pm to pay for. For these, use Call 1899 who charge a flat fee of 5p for a UK landline call of any length. They are also a lot cheaper for calls to mobiles and abroad.

So a couple of daytime landline calls per weekday will cost you £9.24 with BT and £2.20 with Call 1899.

Obviously if you make more than ~4.3 daytime calls daily you would be better off with BT's 'anytime' package. I suspect that all these price increases are designed to prompt people to move to the 'anytime' packages

Why pay by cash - save yourself £4.50 and pay by DD or other means. That will then take the price rise right out of the equation and save you a quid or two a month too. :money:

Can't see how if you have the option to go somewhere else....
  • We're on that annual line rental product so we paid £120 up front and jus pay for calls - which we don't make on the landline anyway.
