Can't post links

Options
I can't add links to my postings, even though I have done this many times before.

Is this a temporary glitch, a revised posting policy or something else?

Are you getting an error message when you try?

If so, what does it say?

I just logged onto post a link.

Pasted the link with some text and when I clicked on post quick reply, I got this message:
You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again.

I was then logged out and have had to re-login to post this message.

Have you got any other browsers installed which you can try
  • Hi,

I'm a newbie here. What do I have to do to post links with pictures? I need to attach few documents.

    Thanks

I don't at the moment, but will add another browser and give that a go.

    Many thanks.

Gah I thought I might find information on how many posts are needed to post links on MSE in here - no such luck! If you have no issues when following santer's idea of using another browser, check in your normal one that you've not done anything accidental like disable JavaScript.

Actually that sounds like a cookie problem. Check your browser's cookie settings (somewhere in your privacy options e.g. in FireFox, ensure any option called "Allow cookies from sites" and stuff like "Allow third party cookies" is all ticked).

The problem resolved itself. I haven't done anything to effect this.

    Many thanks.
