HI,
Could anyone recommend a "decent" hotel as close as poss to the NEC, with guaranteed parking (i.e. large car park) please ?
If it makes any difference, I'm a female travelling alone so I don't want anywhere remote or with a longish walk, nor where I have to park away from the hotel.
Thanks
Linda xx

What about staying at a premier inn? I'm sure theres one near the NEC and they have onsite parking. You may even be able to get a £29 a night deal if you look on the website, and theyre not bad for the price. They have on site restaurants too for breakfast/lunch/evening meals. We've stayed in quite a few and have always been pleased with them.0

If you are staying during a major exhibition, prices of all hotels in the vicinity can be too high - like £120 per night - and things are well booked up already. And even then, the hotel can be quite a serious walk (or short drive) from the actual exhibition centre.
When I attended an 4 day event at NEC 5 years ago, stayed in the Travelelodge about 20 mins drive away round the m'way or ring road - got an unbelievable advance broking deal like £20 per night or something.
Here's an example (I think a new Travelodge was recently built near the NEC but cannot be sure):

When I travel to the NEC, I stay at the Hilton Metropole which is next door. Never paid more than £35 for a single room (usually a little bit of research as a lastminute.com "top secret" hotel is needed but it's easy enough to spot)0

If anyone actually ever succeeds in getting a £29 deal form Premier, please do report back!!0 -
I've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which is fine and although the web site talked of parking charges there wasn't one for my two night stay. The Hilton Metropole is plusher and more expensive(Two coffees £8.80 for example) but what really grates is their attitude to parking costs. Not only expensive but if you wish to leave and then return they charge again. It's on my list of places not to stay again.0

Whenever we stay at premier inn we have always paid £29 per night. Nothing more.
As long as you book a few weeks in advance, we have always got a £29 deal. Thats one of the reasons we use them, cos you know what your getting, and aslong as you can book a few weeks in advance theres nearly always a £29 room within the area your after. Thats what we've found anyway...0 -
if you look here you will see that bham airport is next to nec. there is a free airlink from nec to airport so shouldnt be a problem. there is both an etap and an ibis which i understand are decent budget hotels

From what I recall, its 21 days in advance and generally bookings for 2 nights or more. Hence I've never actually achieved this offer. The terms were in really tiny print at the bottom of their offer posters as I recall, and if on the Website, well, darned hard to find. This caused Premier to lose a fat £400 odd booking as I discovered the 21 day thing few days too late, the deal went to Travelodge instead who were offering discounts at that notice period still.0 -
