Coming up to end of T-Mobile Contract

Options
Hey everyone,

My T-Mobile contract will be up on the 21 of Sept, so less than a month to go, I would like to renew my contract if they offer me a good enough deal with the HTC Sensation or New Iphone (When it comes out).

I Purchased a HTC Desire through mobilephonesdirect.com on a 18 month contract worth £25pm with T-Mobile, (rarely was a month when I didn't go over £25)

When I log into My T-Mobile it tells me I can renew my plan on the 21-Sep-2011, So what is my next step based on the above? Cheers! :)

If you can renew on 21 Sept, that means your contract will end on 21 Oct. They let you renew/upgrade a month before your contract ends.

    I suggest you wait one more month as there will be new phones coming out (iPhone 5 and I heard Nexus Prime will launch in October?) and go to Retentions, ask for your PAC code and say you want to leave. I did it today and the guy happily gave me my PAC code, only to call me back again 5 minutes later lol. In the end he gave me;

    18 months
    Free Samsung Galaxy S2
    £29 p/m
    600 minutes
    Unlimited texts
    Unlimited internet

I asked for 20 free MMS and he said 'tell your friends to use What'sApp or use email. Nobody uses MMS anymore' How rude lol

It's not actually an outstanding deal as I've seen far more impressive deals on the Orange Retentions thread but it's still better than his initial offer which was actually 24 months, 35 p/m for the same plan!

    Thanks!

I don't mind waiting a month or so for my choice of phone, (I like that Nexus :p) Also, I recently used T-Mobiles automated 'UP'grade service, by texting 'UP' to 150 and that tells me when I could update, That also said 21-Sep-2011.

So when my contract is up on 21/09 I shall give them a ring at tell them I would like to wait a month or so? then when the phone is out that I want I should give them a call an ask for my PAC etc?

My contract expires 18 oct, I called last week and was offered a Wildfire S for £20, 300 mins, unlimited text and internet for 10 per month. I've seen people on here getting that deal for £5 per month!

Basically 21 Sept is the first day you can upgrade which is a month before your contract ends. It is not when your contract is up, because that would be 21 Oct (if you log in to your T-Mobile account, click on 'review plan and services' under My Plan. It will tell you when your contract ends and I'm sure it should be 21 Oct but do check in case I've mistaken the policy). You can just call anytime from 21 Sept onwards really once you've made up your mind about which phone to take. There is no need to tell them that you want to wait because once your contract is up it will be on a rolling contract until you tell them to terminate your contract/move to another network.

As you have just been told, you can upgrade one month before your contract ends, so if your upgrade date is 21st Sept then your contract ends on 21st Oct.

If you want to switch networks ask for your PAC anytime after 21st Sept and when you use it this acts as your one months notice, you will be charged until at least 21st Oct.

If you use the PAC on 20th Oct then your months notice starts from then.

The Nexus is basically just a restyled Samsung Galaxy S, make sure you 'handle' one before committing to purchase.

Hang on a second... my contract with o2 ends on 24 September. I called them on 24 August and told them that I do not want to extend my contract beyond 24 September and that I want my PAC code. But I obviously intend on using my PAC code towards the end of my contract, because I want to get the most out of my last month with o2 - therefore I planned on using it on the 22 September. Are you telling me that I am going to be billed up until 22 October by o2?

Hi, there is some confusing information on the net. Maybe someone fully in the 'know' will come along and clarify the situation.

I have only ever requested my PAC and have usually been charged, at the very least , for a part months rental depending on the billing cycle.

I read elsewhere that if you give notice of cancellation PLUS request a PAC , the rental is charged until the number switches ( assuming you are out of contract).

The confusing thing is that elsewhere I have read that you can only give 30 days notice OR request a PAC, not both.

If you could give notice PLUS request a PAC why wouldn't the contract end if the PAC was not used?

If your notice starts from the day your request the PAC then you are probably correct.

Can one of the Network reps. please advise ??
