Ending my Orange monthly phone contract

I am currently on a £20, 24month contract with orange. My contract is not due to end until this time next year. I have been with Orange for 3 years, but didn't think to check for a better contract deal when upgrading my phone (as i currently only get 100mins and unlimited texts for my £20, no internet!), so signed up for another 2 years of the same contract.
With 1 year left on my contract how much would it cost to end it early?
I want to switch to O2 or 3 so wont be staying with Orange.

I'd make a guess that it will cost you £20 x the number of months you have left of the contract - but call 150 and check to be certain. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

Apparently you can save VAT if you cancel early at Orange: A very quick question re; VAT and termination0

Unfortunately because you signed in to another 24 months contract you are liable for the line rental for the remainder of the contract.
For example if your line rental is £20 and your contract has 10 months left it would be £200.
As Orange allow people to upgrade 3 months early and then roll the three months over your may find that if you did that you will be effectively on a 27 month contract (the standard 24 month plus the 3 months early)
Your best option is to call Orange customer services and discuss it with them. Call either 150 from your handset or 07973 100 150 from a landline - then select option: 1 option: 4 and finally option: 2 that will take you straight through to the correct department and they can give you exact dates and figures. If you are not very careful, your possessions will possess you!
