Lloyds TSB offer...but no actual offer?!

Greetings, my girlfriend has been offered a refund of all PPI charges etc, however there are no details of any offer. It just says "should you wish to accept our offer please return the signed acceptance form and we will then reply with the breakdowns"

Is this normal?! Seems a bit dodgy to me, "accept and then we'll tell you that you can 50p" :o

My letter states exactly the same, they do not confirm the final payment amount and a breakdown of calculatons and more info untill they have received the signed acceptance letter from you.
  • I got the same letter today, So phoned citizens advice today and going to see them on monday morning, not sure what to make of it. If I sign the agreement then am I legal bond to accept what they give me even if I get ripped of. Advice on this matter would be great

    thanks

The lady on the phone (After 40 mins...) said its not legally binding, however I'm not entirely trusting of these pirates...

I wonder if these are sent out to meet the 16 week deadline? Before they've done any a chance to work out the specifics?

It could be mine has been with the bank for about 12 weeks, it does depend on whether you have claimed previously etc. It is a bit odd....

In my own experience with Lloyds, it was the same for all 7 of them, basically if they confirm they've upheld then that should mean your due for the full refund of PPI plus interest and they should calculate by the FOS guidelines.

When you send back the signed acceptance, before you receive the payout they send a breakdown. This happened in my case anyway, and with one of mine I did write back to them about a calculation which I assumed worked out wrong (worked out by my mates) and they did further down the line sent a further payment out.

You could post the calcs on here when you receive them and someone will check them for you.

    Congratulations!

they are checking you are happy with the method of redress. Not that you are happy with the amount.

    Stop panicking people
you will get correct redress,if you "accept" and the figures are wrong when you get them (someone on here will help with these) then you can go back to the bank..
    Now...... deep breaths :D:D:D:D
Well done on the wins :j:j:j:j:j:j

    Thanks for the info people,

the only other thing is, she had three claims, this offer letter only had one reference number on (relating to the loan with the lowest amount!!).. Now I know it can be practice to group things under one number, but no-one on the phone could tell us anything whatsoever! After 40 mins on the phone she was told they would ring us back, still waiting! I can't believe they don't actually have anyone that can look at it and tell us.

They are doing blind offers due to the backlog, it will be a full refund and interest, if it is then accept it.
