it was fabulous but now you can only listen to any song 5 times so have given up using itWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

I used Spotify for a couple of years on the free scheme but it was never going to last, people can't expect something for nothing. I subscribe to the £5 a month option, it's pretty good considering I am almost always near WI-FI so can listen to whatever I feel like - and if it's worth buying I still get the CD. But for the odd throw away track it's great.0

Slightly off topic and at a tangent,my Spotify was upgraded last week and, somehow,I became able to send out invitations via Facebook to friends.I used to be able to do this when I had the premium service, and indeed distributed many of them via these pages, but since transferring to the cheaper unlimited option I was no longer able to receive invites.
Now I can,seemingly!
So any of you peeps who are friends to someone on Facebook who is also on Spotify, get free access to it if you have been looking for an invite.I guess the invite will get you the 20 hours a month option, but it's better than nothing.0 -
I pay for spotify premium....£10 a month...well worth it....means I can play music on my fab portable player.....also if going to a party i can make a great playlist, make it play offline and get the majority of songs I want to hear....I also use share my playlists when I'm in need of inspiration.....here's a good one

Something to add which many people may not know about Spotify is that it uses a lot of upload bandwidth. It relys on your connection to serve others and this is how they are able to host millions of songs as its a P2P service. The problem is, many people may have usage limits with their ISP so therefore using Spotify will eat into that fairly quickly. It will use your upload bandwidth even if you aren't streaming any songs yourself.
Just a word of warning as I know some ISPs automatically transfer customers to a more expensive plan if they exceed the cap.2013 - Buffalo 500GB Portable Hard Drive, £15 iTunes card, Cadbury's Selection box
2012 - Creative Boombox Bluetooth Speaker, Spotify 6 Month Premium Subscription
2011 - Engraved iPad, Eurovision 2011 CD, ONE Mi Digital & FM Radio0 -
I did like it until they went and changed it! It's pretty rubbish now you have the play 5 times limit. Not great for parties anymore....
I couldn't really justify paying for it though because you can listen to most songs on youtube for free. If you want to listen to songs offline on your computer/iphone/ipod and music it's pretty good but don't think I could justify the price when at the end of the day your not actually getting to keep the songs.
P.S if you want to try it out pretty sure there is a week free trial, just make sure as soon as you sign up to go to your account and take off the payment renewal so you don't get charged.
If you just google spotify free trial the link should come up0 -
Mflow is definitely one to try. Free to use, you can recommend tracks to others via FB and twitter, and if others buy tracks after your recommendations you get 20%. Plus, as i found out last night it works via my phone browser (android) so music on the go.
There is a link here to join and you get a £1 to start you off (I get a credit as well )

I am a spotify premium user - I pay £9.99 a month for the service.
I make playlists, download tracks and use them on my iphone - I have to put it in offline mode to set it up with my radio sender for the car stereo or you get inteference but other than the hardware issues with my phone and stereo its been a fine service.
I love music and a lot of the more obscure stuff isnt on there, Dinosaur Jr - Freak scene for a start which cheesed me off but its all down to the labels really not playing ball with spotify or vice versa.
Most stuff is on there and its not a bad service, if it had everything it would be better but its certainly not bad.
As the recession bites harder though Spotify and Lovefilm may be first to go for me0 -
If you like outright own your collections then I would not recommend spotify.0
