All you frugile music lovers out there! What do you think of services like Spotify. Are the "Unlimited" and "Premium" accounts at spotify a good deal? Or does it not pay out in the long run??

i use spotify but refuse to pay i was a founding member
i also use the free we70 -
Due to the new limitations being brought in, I cannot in all honesty recommend Spotify. One of my favourite record labels (InsideOut/Century Media) has already withdrawn its albums from the service due to the changes.
Give https://www.mflow.com a try. It's free, has a great selection and no adverts.0 -

found 2 tracks spots wont play so far
and the quality sounds better through the hi fi0 -
I've got the 2 month premium free trial with Three, it's quite good so far. I can use it on my phone and some of the tracks I can listen to without using up internet allowance as I've made them available offline, so it downloads them to my phone (using Wi-fi of course).
Depending on how good it is, I may continue the £10 a month, but it all depends on the next 2 months!0 -
Sadly, The changes to Spotify will soon render my Playlists redundant with the five plays per song limit, but it's pretty cool for finding new bands and it's great for house parties. If you use it however, feel free to check out my band "Dirty Wee Middens" we were recently added to it by our label, nothing like a little Horrorpunk to brighten your day. haha.£8/£96 for ToughMudder fee.0

It used to be good but i think its lost its appeal, 1 thing i didnt know is that not all songs are on spotify as i found out earlier on this year. Ill use it now and then or ill use we7 or last fm or ill stick my radio on and listen to absolute radio or an internet radio station.0

I think that Spotify made a fatal error in choosing to charge for unlimited music, it diminished it's status as a kind of free radio and the magic is gone. Paying for listening to music doesn't make much sense to most people, seeing as you don't actually get the music to listen to without the internet or on an ipod or phone. On the other hand, I do think that the public's sense of entitlement over anything on the internet is unhealthy on a larger scale, probably stemming from the wide availablity of (illegal) free music and movies.0

I think Grooveshark played it very well by allowing early users to 'lock in' at the introductory price with mobile service - they've got me for life, providing they don't get sued into oblivion. Even at the new prices I think they're offering a fair deal.0
