I'm going to San Francisco & LA soon & booked all my accom through http://www.hotels.com/ if you go through http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/bri1 first you also get 8.08% cashback, if you book ten nights you get one free via thier loyalty scheme.

Just taken a look at hotels.com hotel, rooms from about £34 a night around the airport for four, fishermans wharf from £55 a night, but be careful with the city centre/fishermans wharf one's if you have a car to park as you can pay around $45 a night to park at some hotels I looked at, I'm staying in South San Francisco free parking & only 20 Mins to Fishermans wharf.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Fishermans Wharf a few years ago. Booked it through Priceline and it was about £40 per room per night!

    BTW
I wouldn't stay at FW-very Blackpool like IMHO
  • Have to say that I thought Fishermans' Wharf was very tacky. I wouldn't choose to stay there however, it is handy for ferries and seeing the sea lions.
Have a look for somewhere beside Union Square. This is where you can get the hop on/off buses( but obviously there are stops at FW) and also a good range of restaurants and shops.

You would get better prices by going further away from FW, somewhere up Lombard St would offer the same standard at cheaper rates, still within walking distance and on the tramlines.
