  • I read the advice on this Forum about contacting Mr Duddy at the Milton Keynes address as I simply couldn't get any resolution to my issues, I wrote to him personally and I had a phone call from his office the day he got the letter and had a refund back the following day. Brilliant service from him. I recommend that course of action.
  • my husband bought me the Nokia 6700s from argos on 27/11/2010 , I returned it back to Argos on 23/02/2011, as the phone was faulty (kept loosing data), only to get told that i could not have a replacement nor exchange nor a refund and that they (Argos) could send the handset away to get repaired , So therefor i had no choice but let Argos send my mobile for repair. So 15 days later i receive a call from Argos to pick phone up. I picked the mobile up on 10/03/2011 along with a letter from the repair company (Regenersis) stating unfortunately we were unable to repair your old handset. So, we are delighted to provide you with a replacement.

Only to be giving back my old handset and be told , the insides had been replaced... So that is my replacement mobile ...I Do Not Think So!!
I returned home with the handset inserted my sim and sd card only to find out that the mobile is still loosing data.. I am Fumming with Argos and Regenersis and about the way both parties have treated me and the matter . I will be returning the handset to Argos on 11/03/2011.

I will keep all posted .

  • I won't order from Argos again they are awful.

In Sept 2009 i ordered a mattress. A tall man came to my door clutching the invoice and a small lad came with the mattress on his shoulder.

I asked if they could put it upstairs on the landing and i was met with 'sorry no health and safety'

To which i replied so you are going to leave it here by my front door blocking it? and again he said 'yep sorry' then !!!!!!ed off. I ended up mauling it upstairs myself.

The second time Dec 2009 i ordered a bookcase and coffee table, they were both in stock and i paid for them on my debit card the delivery time was roughly 14 days. The 14 days came and went no phone call so i rang Argos only to be told the items were no longer in stock and i can have my money back with 10 working days.

Sept 2010 we ordered a sofa and chair the 3 idiot delivery people this time refused to bring it into the house as they were in cardboard boxes and said wouldn't get through my door! I was 7 months pregnant at the time so it was left up to my poor husband to lug the thing in on his own. Again the same excuse 'health and safety'

The sofa is going back due to it being broken i am waiting for new one to be delivered. Wonder if they will take this one out of my property and replace with the new one??????

Unless u want a big pain in the butt.
Have a dishwasher from them, payed an extra £63.99 for 3yrs breakdown cover like an idiot!! Now at just 10 months old, it stops working, call Argos for engineer, he arrives the following week, only cover our area on certain days of the week. He says it needs a number of replacement parts and will return the following week to fit them, 5 weeks later we are STILL WAITING !!! after many, many telephone calls, in which they just brush us off, their customer service is rude, useless and a waist of time.
Have already emailed and written to head office and requested a refund, as we have given them ample time to repair the dishwasher. Will never buy from argos again. HELP !
  • I have ordered a Indesit washing machine through Argos online end of August. I have ordered the machine along with the delivery, installation and recycle the old machine services.

Finally got it delivered last Saturday by Indesit Company. The delivery driver refused to install the new machine and has not take the old machine away with him. He left the machine in the middle of my kitchen entry and left. I have two unworking washing machine in my kitchen for whole week and I can get my back door open as the machine is in the way.

I have been trying to contact Argos customer service helpline since last Saturday after the disaster delivery driver left. But never got any feedback from them, every time I have to hold on the phone for at least 30mins until my call to be answered.

Finally manage to get Indesit to call me and arrange collection of the machine, but they say they cannot promise the time, which means I have to take a day off work to wait for their driver for the collection of the machine, and they have refused to refund me the full amount, as they have already delivered the machine, hence they can charge me for the installation, recycle and delivery charges. As my brother stayed at home for the delivery, hence he has signed off the delivery notes. Is that means I can have my money back? He is only 16, hence the driver really shouldn't ask him to sign off anything, right?

I have spent my every lunch time this week on the phone with them and spent hours to write email to them.

Since I have ordered the washing machine for convenience, not for the all the problems that caused by them.

Can someone please tell me where I can get this complaint through to Argos and Indesit. I have called the 0845 number many many time this week through my mobile, just received my phone, I have spent £30 just to call Argos Customer Service this week.

Any help would be very grateful.

    Jo

TheJunkieMonkey - your post worries me as I am currently awaiting delivery of a table and chairs that we ordered on 2nd January with delivery within 28 days and a phone call with a delivery date before 28th January. After no phone call, I phoned them to be told that I would now be contacted before 25th February but I'm not holding out much hope.
