This is my first post on behalf of my wife - After reading about the illegality of bank charges, she decided to trawl back through her statements (she has las 3 years) - she discovered that she has been charged £7.50 per month every month of so-called 'maintenance charges'. - She has been slightly overdrawn on occasion but only be a few pounds and never for more than one or two days.
My wife contacted that bank to request the previous 3 years statements to be told the chrge would be.. wait for it..... £6.00 per page!!! - that equates to approx £360.00.
My questions are:
1. Is she entitled to reclaim these 'unfair' maintenance charges for the last 6 years.
2. Is the bank entitled to charge £6.00 for every page of statements
3. Can she claim without the statements - ie - put the owness on the bank to work out how much they have charged her over the past 6 years.
Would really appreciate advice on this one.

1) Are you with BOS by any chance. Have a look at this. You may need to register with CAG but its worth it. It seems people have been including these charges with their claim. I am not entirely sure.....do they charge you this every month...this cud be a service charge which is not reclaimable.Maybe someone else can clarify this.
2.No. under data protection they can only chage max £10.
3) In my opinion its better having the statements."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

The banks are entitled to ask for payment for duplicate statements but if you use the letter below you are asking for Charge Details and the maximum charge for this is £10.

Just to clarify - When I go into the red I am charged a £15.00 referral fee plus £7.50 'maintenance fee 'every month' of that quarter. - Is this claimable as a refund? - I have never been overdrawn by more than 2 days.0

You need to ring the bank and ask them what each charge term means and what they are for as banks use different terms.
3. Can she claim without the statements - ie - put the owness on the bank to work out how much they have charged her over the past 6 years.
If your claim reaches going to court it is you who is taking the bank to court and therefore you need to produce accurate lists of charges as your defence.0
