Send to another address?

Options
so i see a lot of people on here saying "do not send to another address" is there anybody here who will?

The reason i ask is whenever i buy anything from Ebay i always ask for the item to be sent to my work address (otherwise if its recorded i wont be at home and means trips to post office etc, which i can only do on a weekend due to me working) and i have never had anybody say no.

i understand with expensive items like mobile phones etc but would you send smaller value items to a different address?

would you look at feedback etc before making a decision?

**just interested so please do not go on a rant at me, i know about paypal protection etc etc!**

For small items I would send to an address other than one that gave me seller protection, however i would do it knowing I could not defend any claims raised against me by the buyer.

I would send lower value items to another address, but I believe you can also add a second address to either your ebay or paypal accounts (I forget which). I can't for the life of me remember how, but ot might be worth asking on one of the ebay buying boards.

    i just wondered thats all.

i guess its just if your willing to take the risk.

im no ebay whizz by far but i have used it for quite a few years to buy and sell things.

I think for new people coming to this forum to ask advice must see a lot of problems, but then you have to think for one problem on here how many transactions have gone smoothly and will never be mentioned?

If someone bought something and said "hillo sir u sent 2 mi adress in estonia pleese" i may be slightly worried. but if i was sent a polite email saying can i send to a different address e.g a work address or a family member (in the same town/city) i would probably send it. Maybe im to trustworthy :A

I've sent items under a tenner to a different address but anything more than that & I would ask the buyer to put their other address on Paypal.
It may be worth you doing that if you use your work address often.
Sods law says that the next person you ask will want it showing in Paypal.

That would not suprise me one bit, if they say no to the work address i will just have it delivered to my home address, but with work its just easier.
  • Hi all, this is my first post. Just put in keyword "paypal" and saw this thread. Is it safe to make payment from paypal at the merchants request? They sent me a money request where I am allowed to enter my credit card details to pay for the sum /amount (which they have pre-entered for me). Its shows the goods I want to buy and my card billing address. So my question really is, can I still file a dispute in the event anything goes wrong? Im a newbiew to all this but its very different to just paying for goods online. Appreciate anyone's advise on this matter. Thanks. Foon

I will only post items to the address on the paypal payment.

When making payment through paypal there is an option to add a 2nd address. Click on 'add or edit address' and enter the address you want the item sent to, save and confirm payment. Your work address will be saved for future payments then you can choose which address you want the item sent to.

This is true. I have 3 addresses on my account. I have my own, my parents and my friends address as she buys all her ebay stuff through me. Never had a problem.

Anything not being posted Special Delivery isn't covered by paypal protection anyway. A polite request from me for postage to a firend or relation would result in a negative if it was refused.

Add as many addresses to your account as you like, there really shouldn't be a reason any more to not have the correct address where you want goods going to when payment is made.
