Hi guys.
Coming to the end of my 12vmnth deal i got with Tesco last year when i got my iPhone 4 . going to get a SIM only as i don't need a new phone.

Whats the best Sim only deal that would be good for a iPhone.
Things to consider is free texts, mins and data but i usually use wifi everywhere.

Depends on how many minutes you need etc.

I realised I don't really make many calls anymore so opted for TalkMobile on their SIMple plan £8 per month:

200min/500text/500MB on 30 day rolling contract
    or
300min/1000text/500MB on 6 month rolling contract

I went with the 30 day rolling contract as I wanted to make sure I was happy with them before committing to a longer term. Seem fine so far and they use the Vodafone network which I was on before (Iphone 4 locked to Vodafone). Actually the network still shows up as Vodafone on the display rather than TalkMobile.

Well, being cheeky, you are as well equipped as anyone else to look on the web sites of the big 5, throw in Tesco, Aldi and Giff Gaff and see which one suits your needs and pocket.

But it really isn't that big a deal as, if you are going sim only, you can go one month at a time and then jump on any deals - like the Tesco £7.50/£12.50 deal, if that floated your boat.

Also you are not tied in if reception is iffy on whatever network you select.

Giffgaff seem to have sorted out their data issues and their £10/ month for 250 minutes plus unlimited texts and data is quite a good deal. There's no contract involved so you can switch out again after a month or 2 without any problems. They use the O2 network so your iphone won't need unlocking and they also provide the smaller sim card.
  • I was using giffgaff when I was free of my contract term on O2, as it was much cheaper than their SIM only deal and no tie-in. Would happily go back to them, if/when they start supporting BlackBerry. I used my phone quite a bit but didn't hammer the data and I could get by quite happily with the £10 goodybag. I gave a bit of advice on the forums, too, and made quite a few quid that way!
