I live in a ground floor flat and have soundproofing issues,a builder took the ceiling down and found this.

if you are this worried about the place, please please please pay a surveyor to come and inspect the property instead of asking on an internet forum (and ignoring any advice you are given)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I was hoping there may be a qualified individual on here before i pay a fortune for a surveyor and save money as in MSE0

Looks pretty usual to me, although it is difficult to see from the pics.
What exactly is it you are concerned about?0 -
Thankyou Martin, the cracks go right through to the flat above and there are 3 above me0

You could post the pics on DIYnot.com in the appropriate section. There are many qualified trademen on there and some of them are helpful. But if this is a mjor concern for you then you may have to fork out for a professional assessment.
Another idea is to get a builder in to provide a free quote to fix it - at least you'll then know the scale of the issue.Everyone is entitled to my opinion!0 -

What was/is the ceiling made off that was taken down?
I have to say that I still would not be unduly concerned, but I am only going on the little information you have posted.
If you are concerned then you are not going to get a definitive answer on forums like this.
I would suggest, in the first instance, talking to the builder who took the ceiling down then, if you still not satisfied, talk to a structural engineer not a building surveyor0
