  • Does anyone else when ringing them notice that their IVR doesn't work when you try and select the option ?! I had to ring 4 times yesterday before it accepted me pressing '1' for 'bank accounts.' Told the consultant and he told me to "press "*0" when coming through. Wasn't sure this was possible before entering any account details, but shouldn't he have been apologising, saying he would pass that message on, etc. Unbelievable, really....

They may say it is a sales line, but I have never had any problems being put through to someone who can help.

I moved some money from my account to OH as she gets interest on that and it says pending
  • Around a month ago I lost means to get in on line to handle my mothers affairs on her bank account as her POA. For three months they said they had issues with their syste. Ultimately it turns out the influence of Lloyds and a harmonisation of their system "threw" all the POA dedicated users off and now they seem to have no means of reinstating for those affected. They tried to use my mothers own un used user ID but then said they had de registered this as it had not been used (she is 87 does not know what the internet is and has short term memory problems!!). I got a call from the local branch last noght who had been cited as able to overcome the probelem and they said they had no means to cure the problem (the same as the online help desk people had already said. Does anybody out there that works for the Halifax have the means to direct a senior colleague to this post as I am beyond frustration with this firm especially as two of mum's accounts can only be handled on line. Thanks.

Don't know where you are coming from, I used it just prior to the post you quoted, and to satisfy my curiosity,I have just now called it and it worked!

The number it called from, via 147, is 020 75700166.

I have had enough with Halifax unreliable website and dreadful online help service.

The website keeps on rejecting my password. I then have to change it and phone your 0845 number. After more than 10 minutes on hold, I get bounced from one department to another. Eventually I am told it has been changed successfully. I go online and still no access. I phone again and after another wait I am told they will transfer my call and they hang up. I phone again and after another long wait, the job’s worth on the "help" line tells me I have failed security because I cannot remember on what date I opened my account! I asked to speak with the manager. Spoke with Craig and told him I wanted to register a customer complaint. I am very dissatisfied and asked him how best to cancel my accounts.
