Reaching end of 12 month simplicity - what to upgrade to?
Hi, I am currently on a 12 month simplicity, paying 15pounds for 300 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited o2 to o2 bolt on, and 500mb smartphone internet bolt on. Now I know this is a very good contract which is difficult to come by at the moment so would like to stay on it, when upgrading next month what could I get o2 to offer me for staying on it?
At the same time i like the look of the new blackberry bold 9900, is there a way to upgrade to a plan with the phone but still stay on my current tarrif, as the bold 9900 plans charge a lot more for a lot less (after taking into account the handset cost)?

There are a massive number of mobile promotions on Quidco at the moment which can bring down the monthly cost considerably. I've just moved onto an O2 Simplicity Sim only contract with data which costs £21.50 per month, but with £100 cashback and a £50 M&S voucher the effective cost is only £9 per month (for a 12 month contract).
If you want to bide your time and see what comes up I suggest you switch to giffgaff for a month or so (£10/ month for 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited data - but no tethering to a laptop) and then switch back when your new deal is up and running. Giffgaff use O2 as their network provider so no need to unlock your phone and they don't have contracts, you just renew from one month to the next or even use PAYG if usage is low.0
