Hi

My husband and I are both with O2, he has a blackberry and me an iphone. When we are sat together on the sofa he has ok reception (3/5) whereas I have 'No service' ! How can this be?

Also, the O2 'coverage checker' website says for our postcode we should have 5/5 for voice and text indoors when that is not the case for either of us.

What can I do? Ive just signed up for a 24m contract based on my husbands reception being ok and the coverage checker results

Firstly, this is normal for different phones, especially if one of them is iPhone known to be a good toy with some mobile phone capabilities.

Secondly AFAIK there is no any standard for the bars that different phones show.

And finally, the term "indoors" is meaningless. It may be 5/5 inside some average house, but no network would promise 5/5 inside any house.

I think you can try returning the iPhone claiming that it is faulty (it may be indeed).

ETA: also, I don't know how it works on O2, but are you sure that both phones are using the same (3g or 2g) signal?
