Options
Currys's have the Tefal Actifry for £109 at the moment and you can get 3.5% cashback on quidco too. A lot better than the £169 that they usually are!

I had an actifry which eventually gave up the ghost earlier this year (It had been used at least 3 times a week for around 3 years though so it owed me nothing!) I have to say it is an absolutely brilliant appliance. I replaced it with the bigger family actifry, as my kids are getting older and eat more now, and I dont think its as good as the regular sized one.
However I would definitely give the actifry 5 stars if anyone is thinking about buying one. It's worth every penny!

Wouldnt touch these again, bought one 2 or 3 years ago from costco, after a years use flames, smoke, and never worked again. Now just sits unwanted and unloved in a cupboard. Shame, nice chips, but too dangerous for my liking.

Thanks for the info I have been thinking for a while about getting one but the risk of them catching fire puts me off, I know it is a small % of those purchased that have done so, but I am still unsure. Does anyone know if they have been modified at all, to stop the risk of fire?
    Thanks

I was really put off by the price tag and would never have dreamed of getting one, but was bought the family size as a gift and use it all the time, its a great piece of kit :)

Didn't even know there was one, and I've been using mine for 20 months!

Had mine for two years and then it smoked and died........I miss it but they are too expensive to replace/ not made well enough to last....and most actifry's go that way ;(

My actifry done this too after 2 years but why did you keep it, I took mine back to Costco and got a full refund, they don't care about 1 year limits for returns, won't even ask for a receipt if you are still a member. I actually took the 2nd actifry back about 13 months after I bought it as it was starting to make strange noises and I thought it was on the way out, again they refunded me and I now have the black version.

Even though I'm on my 3rd I would recommend them as they are great, I believe the black one no longer has the parts that were failing in it but buy from Costco if you can just to be sure!

P.S. they don't actually go on fire, just a big bang, small spark and then switch off going by my experience.
