Virgin Cable TV inferior picture quality compared to TV tuner

My Virgin cable TV service went down recently so I had to plug the TV into the roof aerial and use the digi tuner in the TV instead. What a difference, the picture quality is far superior and costs nothing (bar TV license of course) so I haven't bothered using the Virgin service since. I have submitted a complaint to Virgin as I don't see why I should Pay for an inferior picture quality. Also using the Virgin service we occasionally experienced pixelation (picture break up) and loss of sound (C Beebies from 6am to 9am, up with the kids !!) I would be interested to hear if any of you have the same experience.

Are you on analgue or digital & do you have BBC1 ect on seperate channels on the TV without the roof aerial plugged in?
How are you viewing the BBC1 ect when the cable is connected?thru AV or a RF lead?0 -
Virgin picture quality varies a lot in differing locations (as does freeview reception of course), I have seen some very poor pictures and seen most/all areas around/inside the M25 I have yet to see one installation that's better in picture quality than Skys.0

I'm in Birmingham and most the time my Virgin picture quality is poor. Lots of pixelation & it seems there arent enough colours to render smooth shading very well.0
