(my first) post deleted without any explanation or comment...?

Options
Hi. I joined the site yesterday to ask a question which I believe was valid, interesting, legal, moral, not answered elsewhere, and politely worded.

It appears to have been deleted, and I've not had any explanation, and I'd like one please.

My thread title was "How can one become a member of a stormchild site like rewardsathome.com" and I posted it to the discount/vouchers forum.

I was trying to find out the name of a company of which I could become a paying customer in order to obtain, as an incentive from them, membership of a site which gives a range of discount vouchers. I understand that stormchild provides a range of whitelabel sites, some as employee benefits, and some as customer incentives. For example, octagon insurance gives a membership to their customers - but I'm not looking for motor insurance right now.

If my question was somehow out-of-line then I'm very sorry, but it would be polite to a new member to explain why rather than just deleting my post.

Thanks.

If the abuse team are alerted to a post or thread and they deem that it has broken a rule of any kind they will delete it pending investigation with no explaination.

If a member habitually repeats the offending post there is a good chance they will have their posting privilages removed, trouble being the member has not been informed which rule has been broken.

This forum may be free to join and post on unmoderated but members are restricted by the site owners rules.

Any questions, email the abuse team and ask as there is a good chance that this thread will go the way of your other one.

There is some explanation in the forum rules/FAQ in this link:

Thanks for your replies. I understand the need for moderation and rules of course, it's just that I was taken aback to have a thread deleted without explanation - perhaps I'll receive one later. However I did take care to read the rules and weigh my question against them so I'm surprised.

I thought my question was analogous to "I've heard there are some packets of crisps that have 2-4-1 theme park entry vouchers on them. Does anyone know whether it's Walkers or Smiths? And where can I buy them?"... still, I'll wait for a response from whoever.

(edit - having read the link fermi posted now, perhaps I'll email to ask, and given the scale of the mods' job perhaps I won't bother them... But given the paucity of information on this subject on the net, I'm inclined to try to get to the bottom of this. Especially since I've now had a reply from stormchild to my email asking them the same thing (they ignored that question, but answered another, about joining them directly for employees of my own business))
