After hearing nothing for 3 weeks we contacted the Ombundsman and within 2 days we get a call from Castellan / Homeserve who agreed to send out a repair person who would take more pictures etc.
Received a letter yesterday basically saying they cannot find the materials and we can either take around £400 cash or receive a credit voucher for just over £900 which can be used in Harveys.
It does pay to complain and fight your corner.
BEWARE: Harveys are just as bad and use Castelan technicians to conduct a survey. I have now had dealings with at least 4 Castelan / Homeserve technicians who have all been liars. It would seem that the most important credential these days is to be able to tell lies.0 -
We took the credit voucher and used it ok. Even managed to negotiate a discount on the sofa from Harvey's and got the insurance chucked in for next to nothing.
Agree that castellan are liars.0
