It would be interesting if Tesco published all of the entries after the closing date so we could see what people entered.

Could make for some fun reading - maybe a peoples choice award!

I don't think that's likely. I bet there are some belting entries that haven't won while some quite dodgy ones have (I don't mean the chicken house just poor efforts really) and it will then really look like they haven't read them all or they were just too mean to give away anything too expensive however good they entry was.

Have just caught up with thread and realised people have not entered with items that are OOS...... please someone tell me I haven't wasted all my entries :eek: I just checked my item and it's showing OOS, I just presumed you could pick anything and if it wasn't in stock, they would send it to you when they got more in?? :(:(

I agree with previous posters - report the troll and then ignore it. Since the trolls appearance and their various posts, there has been nothing but unrest, upset and many ruffled feathers! And I do believe the troll is enjoying every moment!

I have to agree with this.

I'm in the minority, but i think Tesco was fair to do what they did.

I think the issue is more so that the poem wasn't completely original. It also didn't help that M said she spent 3 hours on it, thus implying that she came up with it herself. Whilst people keep on saying that the same thing was done with song lyrics, there really is a difference imo.

If Tesco backtrack, it will just open the floodgates to people thinking it's ok to copy from poems that aren't all that well known, and everyone will be up in arms... again.

Maybe Tesco will be nice enough to give Micbou a prize out of goodwill! Whoever is pretending to be Kenn is rather sad and should be ashamed of themselves.

    Completely agree with this.

Whilst I have enormous sympathy for Micbou because of the way she was outed for plagiarism, the words she used were penned by an award winning poet and there is no way the likes of me (and lots of us) using our own hastily cobbled together rhymes could compete with this.

I know exactly what people are saying about the songs that have been used for entries but I think the big difference is that people are using songs that are so well known and then adapting them for the comp.

When I've picked something that is OOS, it tells me it's ineligible for the comp. Unless you've entered via email, your entries should be OK

YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT HONESTY?!

Everyone bends the truth every now an then but your pretending to be a talented poet!
  • i think somewhere on the terms it says if something is out of stock you will get a giftcard to the amount of the item
If I cared what everyone else thought, I'd be just like everyone else, and there's already too many of them. :A

I mean't her honesty in telling Tesco - what the situation was - she didn't have too and i'm sure no one would have been so unkind as to report her ( apart from you maybe )

maybe you should feel flattered that she decided to copy some of your poem, I would be for the reason that it was used for ( although if it were for cash, car or holiday then I would maybe feel different )
