Anyhow, a 'cancel transaction' case is now open, so let's hope the bidder agrees to cancel ..... pronto.
Lets hope a buyer who allows their ebay id to be 'hacked' is savvy enough to agree to the mutual. If they let it run then you have to wait 7 days until it closes in your favour and you get your fees back and can go to a SCO. If they mistakenly say they do want the item, then that's it, you are stuck with the fees.I would send second chance offer then open a non paying bidder case after 4 days. The buyer will then have so many days to respond (four I think?) then you can close the case, the buyer will get an upaid item strike and you will receive a credit for your final value fee's.
Never a good idea to SCO until the first buyer has a chance of paying, otherwise you could end up with two payments and two lots of fees and an unhappy buyer. As OP says he has chanced a mutual already he no longer has the ability to go for the NPB anyway, you can only do one or the other.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had this happen to me twice recently. Both buyers won my items, 1st buyer said she left her phone at her friends and her friend bid on my item and doesn't want it (she was a new ebayer). I relisted the item, it sold. I opened a case for the non paying bidder, she paid eventually - around 2 weeks after winning. I no longer had the item to send to her so I contacted ebay who told me I done the right thing since the buyer told me she would not be paying. Ebay credited the FVF back to my account.
Second buyer sent a message after winning two of my items stating she tried to cancel the bid on one item and couldnt understand how she won. She asked if I would cancel the transaction for one of the items as she did not want both. When I looked I noticed she had bidded at the last minute so I doubt she would have tried to retact her bid. I just agreed to cancel the transaction and relisted the item - it didn't sell as much as the original buyer bid up to so not only did she waste my time but I also lost out. I wish I opened a non paying bidder case but I know for next time if this happens again.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -

.
If your buyer paid after the mutual had closed in your favour (and after 2 weeks that is likely) then your fees should have been returned before your buyer paid, keep on eye on that in case there is a glitch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Now sorted - the bidder amicably closed the case file, so have now sent a second chance offer to the next highest bidder.
Thanks for everyone's help.0
