So so cash wise this week. Finally got rid of the dead car, which has cleared OH's overdraft. Sold his matchbox car collection left by his G'dad which puts him back in the black. Just got to build up the emergency fund now.

Had to pay £75 excess for the lamppost shaped dent in my car:o and booked a wine induced holiday to centreparcs for later in the year, so £90 deposit.

No other trivial spending, but looking for a kitchen table / chairs on ebay....

Started off well on the diet front, but kyboshed it over the weekend:( Made a big pot of soup this morning and need to really get my act together.

Hey Mimi, on the furniture front you could check out local charity furniture shops and second hand sellers as well as eBay. I bought our oval shaped extendable dining table with a central leg and 6 fabric seated chairs for £75 (everything we wanted) from the British Heart Foundation furniture store. I couldn't find anything like as good a deal on eBay (I spent several months looking). Only downside was the £15 delivery, but I got it the next day, so I guess I can't complain really. Worth a shot?

Wooo on being in the black though :T :T that's great!

On the plus side my gas & electricity has gone down by £10 per month. I need to start keeping a spending diary again:o

Well done Mimi! :T Those are some great savings. Although I understand about being sad for cancelling sky. I'd really miss my sky if I didn't have it.

Did you change to "value" contacts? And what about the solution? The cheapest I could get them was £8pcm - £4 for solution and £4 for the actual lenses.

    Hi Cazzie,
I've cancelled Sky twice before now, in the end I always get it back:D DD gets up at 4am every morning, watches Nick Junior until I get up at 6am. Got a feeling that's one saving thats going to come back and bite me in the bum:(

The contacts were on Hot UK Deals - they're for daily disposables

I don't wear them very often, so a box would do me a couple of months. Where are you getting yours from?

Ahhh, yeah that would explain it. Actually I chose not to get them - partly because of the cost, and partly because my eyes suddenly decided they didn't like them (having been fine with them previously). I much prefer contacts over glasses, but my eyesight has gotten to the point now where I need to wear something all the time otherwise I get headaches, so I made the decision to wear glasses instead, as I couldn't get more than 6-7 hours of wear out of the lenses :(

Is she old enough to be able to stick a film on every morning?
