  • sorry soff topic but where are you doing philosophy that allows those modules? i am also doing philosophy and had to argue to be allowed to do one sociology module
  • Other than that all the rest of it is has been rubbish and as far from enjoyable as you can get. I thought university was meant o be the best days of your life.

You promised to stop moaning last night Phil but here you are again. You cannot keep going round and round in circles like this - the answer to your worries does not lie here on MSE but with you. No amount of complaining about your coursework or tutors is going to make up for the fact that you should be putting in the work RIGHT NOW to achieve a pass at what ever level.

Please do yourself a favour and log out and start doing something more productive to ensure you get the most out of these final months. You are not only wasting your time on here at the moment but everyone elses too if you refuse to take our advice on board.

All my lectures last year were run by Post Grad students, and they were so much better at teaching the subject than the lecturers I have this year! They explained better and were always willing to help if you didn't understand the topic and needed someone to go through it with you one-on-one. The lecturers I have this year just dont care.

That post was not a moan but was a simple reflection.

No it wasn't - it was an extremely negative comment on the situation you think you are in. I'm not getting into a debate about it. If you want to spend every waking hour on here moaning about your lot in life that's fine.
  • Phil - why do you yet again start an ostensible discussion topic when really you just want to moan about your personal life? At least have the decency to be honest about the reason for your threads so that people can skim over the titles and not waste time clicking on them.

The university regulations at my place allow you to take electives in every year if you want.

uni was the best years of my life for me. I miss it a lot.

ps-phil, I just can't take you seriously. I know you have a lot of problems but you don't seem to take our advice. We're back to exactly where we started off yesterday!

I know what cycles of depression are like. (trust me on this one)
I am the world's slowest writer. In the 6 weeks of writing my phd, i have written 6000 words (of which most of them are utter crap anyways)

But I don't post about how I am not getting any support because no one is here to hold my hand while I panic about yet another piece of reading I have to do. I don't complain about how rubbish my supervisor is because he's not writing my thesis for me. It is work I have to do because that is what I am telling myself to do.

A little bit of self-motivation never killed anyone.

    I think.

and pps- stop attacking post grads, what do you have against us anyways? honestly!
